ਆਗੇ ਤੇ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਮਿਲਿਯੋ ਬਾਗਵਾਨ ਸੁ ਹਾਰ ਗਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਤਿਨਿ ਡਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

aage te sayaam miliyo baagavaan su haar gare har ke tin ddaariyo |

The first to meet Krishna was the gardener, who garlanded him

ਪਾਇ ਪਰਿਯੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਬਹੁ ਬਾਰਨ ਭੋਜਨ ਧਾਮ ਲਿਜਾਇ ਜਿਵਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

paae pariyo har ke bahu baaran bhojan dhaam lijaae jivaariyo |

He fell at the feet of Krishna many times and taking him alongwith himself, he served meal to Krishna

ਤਾ ਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਿ ਕੈ ਮਾਗਤ ਭਯੋ ਬਰੁ ਸਾਧ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੋ ਜੀਯ ਧਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

taa ko prasan kai maagat bhayo bar saadh kee sangat ko jeey dhaariyo |

Krishna was pleased with him and told him to ask for a boon

ਜਾਨ ਲਈ ਜੀਯ ਕੀ ਘਨ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਤਬੈ ਬਰੁ ਵਾ ਉਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਉਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੮੨੬॥

jaan lee jeey kee ghan sayaam tabai bar vaa uh bhaat uchaariyo |826|

The gardener thought in his mind about asking for the boon of the company of a saint, Krishna read this from his mind and granted him the same boon.826.
