Maajh, Fifth Mehl:

ਹੁਕਮੀ ਵਰਸਣ ਲਾਗੇ ਮੇਹਾ ॥

hukamee varasan laage mehaa |

By His Command, the rain begins to fall.

ਸਾਜਨ ਸੰਤ ਮਿਲਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੇਹਾ ॥

saajan sant mil naam japehaa |

The Saints and friends have met to chant the Naam.

ਸੀਤਲ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਠਾਢਿ ਪਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥

seetal saant sehaj sukh paaeaa tthaadt paaee prabh aape jeeo |1|

Serene tranquility and peaceful ease have come; God Himself has brought a deep and profound peace. ||1||

ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਬਹੁਤੋ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥

sabh kichh bahuto bahut upaaeaa |

God has produced everything in great abundance.

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਸਗਲ ਰਜਾਇਆ ॥

kar kirapaa prabh sagal rajaaeaa |

Granting His Grace, God has satisfied all.

ਦਾਤਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਾਤਾਰਾ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਧ੍ਰਾਪੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥

daat karahu mere daataaraa jeea jant sabh dhraape jeeo |2|

Bless us with Your Gifts, O my Great Giver. All beings and creatures are satisfied. ||2||

ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਚੀ ਨਾਈ ॥

sachaa saahib sachee naaee |

True is the Master, and True is His Name.

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਈ ॥

gur parasaad tis sadaa dhiaaee |

By Guru's Grace, I meditate forever on Him.

ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਭੈ ਕਾਟੇ ਮੋਹਾ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸੋਗ ਸੰਤਾਪੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥

janam maran bhai kaatte mohaa binase sog santaape jeeo |3|

The fear of birth and death has been dispelled; emotional attachment, sorrow and suffering have been erased. ||3||

ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੇ ॥

saas saas naanak saalaahe |

With each and every breath, Nanak praises the Lord.

ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਾਟੇ ਸਭਿ ਫਾਹੇ ॥

simarat naam kaatte sabh faahe |

Meditating in remembrance on the Name, all bonds are cut away.

ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸ ਕਰੀ ਖਿਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਜਾਪੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੨੭॥੩੪॥

pooran aas karee khin bheetar har har har gun jaape jeeo |4|27|34|

One's hopes are fulfilled in an instant, chanting the Glorious Praises of the Lord, Har, Har, Har. ||4||27||34||
