ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ik oankaar satigur prasaad |

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਵਡਭਾਗਿ ॥

har darasan paavai vaddabhaag |

The Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan is obtained by great good fortune.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਚੈ ਬੈਰਾਗਿ ॥

gur kai sabad sachai bairaag |

Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, true detachment is obtained.

ਖਟੁ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ॥

khatt darasan varatai varataaraa |

The six systems of philosophy are pervasive,

ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥੧॥

gur kaa darasan agam apaaraa |1|

but the Guru's system is profound and unequalled. ||1||

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਦਰਸਨਿ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥

gur kai darasan mukat gat hoe |

The Guru's system is the way to liberation.

ਸਾਚਾ ਆਪਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

saachaa aap vasai man soe |1| rahaau |

The True Lord Himself comes to dwell in the mind. ||1||Pause||

ਗੁਰ ਦਰਸਨਿ ਉਧਰੈ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥

gur darasan udharai sansaaraa |

Through the Guru's system, the world is saved,

ਜੇ ਕੋ ਲਾਏ ਭਾਉ ਪਿਆਰਾ ॥

je ko laae bhaau piaaraa |

if it is embraced with love and affection.

ਭਾਉ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲਾਏ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਕੋਇ ॥

bhaau piaaraa laae viralaa koe |

How rare is that person who truly loves the Guru's Way.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਦਰਸਨਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥

gur kai darasan sadaa sukh hoe |2|

Through the Guru's system, everlasting peace is obtained. ||2||

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਦਰਸਨਿ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥

gur kai darasan mokh duaar |

Through the Guru's system, the Door of Salvation is obtained.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੈ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਸਾਧਾਰੁ ॥

satigur sevai paravaar saadhaar |

Serving the True Guru, one's family is saved.

ਨਿਗੁਰੇ ਕਉ ਗਤਿ ਕਾਈ ਨਾਹੀ ॥

nigure kau gat kaaee naahee |

There is no salvation for those who have no Guru.

ਅਵਗਣਿ ਮੁਠੇ ਚੋਟਾ ਖਾਹੀ ॥੩॥

avagan mutthe chottaa khaahee |3|

Beguiled by worthless sins, they are struck down. ||3||

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਰੀਰ ॥

gur kai sabad sukh saant sareer |

Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the body finds peace and tranquility.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਲਗੈ ਨ ਪੀਰ ॥

guramukh taa kau lagai na peer |

The Gurmukh is not afflicted by pain.

ਜਮਕਾਲੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥

jamakaal tis nerr na aavai |

The Messenger of Death does not come near him.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਾਚਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥੪॥੧॥੪੦॥

naanak guramukh saach samaavai |4|1|40|

O Nanak, the Gurmukh is absorbed in the True Lord. ||4||1||40||
