ਸਾਤਕਿ ਅਉ ਬਰਮਾਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਊਧਵ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮੁਸਲੀ ਕਰ ਮੈ ਹਲੁ ਲੈ ॥

saatak aau baramaakrit aoodhav sree musalee kar mai hal lai |

ਬਸੁਦੇਵ ਤੇ ਆਦਿਕ ਬੀਰ ਜਿਤੇ ਤਿਹ ਆਗੇ ਕੀਯੋ ਬਲਿ ਕਉ ਦਲੁ ਦੈ ॥

basudev te aadik beer jite tih aage keeyo bal kau dal dai |

He sent all his great warriors including Satyak, Krat Verma, Udhava, Balram, Vasudev etc. to the front,

ਸਬ ਹੂੰ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਊਪਰਿ ਬਾਨਨ ਬ੍ਰਿਸਟ ਕਰੀ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਤਕਿ ਕੇ ਖਲੁ ਛੈ ॥

sab hoon nrip aoopar baanan brisatt karee man mai tak ke khal chhai |

ਸੁਰਰਾਜ ਪਠੇ ਗਿਰਿ ਗੋਧਨ ਪੈ ਰਿਸਿ ਮੇਘ ਮਨੋ ਬਰਖੈ ਬਲੁ ਕੈ ॥੧੪੩੫॥

suraraaj patthe gir godhan pai ris megh mano barakhai bal kai |1435|

And they all showed so many arrows in order to destroy Kharag Singh like powerful clouds sent by Indra for bursting into rain on the Goverdhan mountain.1435.

ਸਰ ਜਾਲ ਕਰਾਲ ਸਬੈ ਸਹਿ ਕੈ ਗਹਿ ਕੈ ਬਹੁਰੋ ਧਨੁ ਬਾਨ ਚਲਾਏ ॥

sar jaal karaal sabai seh kai geh kai bahuro dhan baan chalaae |

The king enduring the terrible rain of arrows also discharged arrows from his side

ਬਾਜ ਕਰੇ ਸਭਹੂੰਨ ਕੇ ਘਾਇਲ ਸੂਤ ਸਬੈ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਰਨਿ ਘਾਏ ॥

baaj kare sabhahoon ke ghaaeil soot sabai tin ke ran ghaae |

He wounded the horse of all the kings and killed all their charioteers

ਪੈਦਲ ਕੇ ਦਲ ਮਾਝਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਤੇਈ ਬਾਨਨ ਸੋ ਜਮੁਲੋਕਿ ਪਠਾਏ ॥

paidal ke dal maajh pario teee baanan so jamulok patthaae |

After that he jumped into the forces on foot and began to send the warriors to the abode of Yama

ਸ︀ਯੰਦਨ ਕਾਟਿ ਦਯੋ ਬਹੁਰੋ ਸਭ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਜਦੁਬੰਸ ਪਰਾਏ ॥੧੪੩੬॥

sayandan kaatt dayo bahuro sabh hvai birathee jadubans paraae |1436|

He shattered the chariots of many and deprived of their chariots, the Yadavas ran away.1436.

ਕਾਹੇ ਕਉ ਭਜਤ ਹੋ ਰਨ ਤੇ ਬਲਿ ਜੁਧ ਸਮੋ ਪੁਨਿ ਐਸੇ ਨ ਪੈ ਹੈ ॥

kaahe kau bhajat ho ran te bal judh samo pun aise na pai hai |

ਸਾਤਕਿ ਸੋ ਖੜਗੇਸ ਕਹਿਓ ਅਬ ਭਾਜਹੁ ਤੈ ਕਛੁ ਲਾਜ ਰਹੈ ਹੈ ॥

saatak so kharrages kahio ab bhaajahu tai kachh laaj rahai hai |

“Why are you running away from the battlefield? You will not have such opportunity of war again.” Kharag Singh said to Satyak, “keep the war-tradition in your mind and do not run away,

ਜਉ ਕਹੂੰ ਅਉਰ ਸਮਾਜ ਮੈ ਜਾਇ ਹੋ ਸੋ ਵਹੁ ਕਾਇਰ ਰਾਜ ਵਹੈ ਹੈ ॥

jau kahoon aaur samaaj mai jaae ho so vahu kaaeir raaj vahai hai |

ਤਾ ਤੇ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਕੈ ਆਨਿ ਭਿਰੋ ਕਿਨ ਭਾਜ ਕੈ ਕਾ ਮੁਖੁ ਲੈ ਘਰਿ ਜੈ ਹੈ ॥੧੪੩੭॥

taa te bichaar kai aan bhiro kin bhaaj kai kaa mukh lai ghar jai hai |1437|

Because when you visit some society, the people will say that the king of the cowards is the same, therefore consider it and fight with me, because on running away to your home, how you will show your face there?”1437.

ਯੌ ਸੁਨਿ ਸੂਰ ਨ ਕੋਊ ਫਿਰਿਯੋ ਰਿਸ ਕੈ ਅਰਿ ਕੈ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਪਾਛੈ ਧਯੋ ਹੈ ॥

yau sun soor na koaoo firiyo ris kai ar kai nrip paachhai dhayo hai |

Hearing these words, none of the warriors came back

ਜਾਦਵ ਭਾਜਤ ਜੈਸੇ ਅਜਾ ਖੜਗੇਸ ਮਨੋ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਰਾਜ ਭਯੋ ਹੈ ॥

jaadav bhaajat jaise ajaa kharrages mano mrigaraaj bhayo hai |

Then the king, in rage, followed the enemy, the Yadavas were running away like goats and Kharag Singh seems like a lion

ਧਾਇ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਮੁਸਲੀਧਰ ਕੋ ਤਨਿ ਕੰਠ ਬਿਖੈ ਧਨੁ ਡਾਰ ਲਯੋ ਹੈ ॥

dhaae milio musaleedhar ko tan kantth bikhai dhan ddaar layo hai |

The king ran and met Balram and put his bow in his neck

ਤਉ ਹਸਿ ਕੈ ਅਪਨੇ ਬਸ ਕੈ ਬਲਦੇਵਹਿ ਕਉ ਤਬ ਛਾਡਿ ਦਯੋ ਹੈ ॥੧੪੩੮॥

tau has kai apane bas kai baladeveh kau tab chhaadd dayo hai |1438|

Then laughingly he subdued Balram but subsequently let him go.1438.
