ਬਾਤ ਸੁਨੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਭ ਸੈਨਹਿ ਸੂਰ ਮਿਲੇ ਇਕੁ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥

baat sunee prabh kee sabh saineh soor mile ik mantr kario hai |

Listening to the words of their king, all the warriors together took this decision.

ਜਾਇ ਪਰੇ ਚਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਤੇ ਧਾਇ ਕੈ ਠਾਟ ਇਹੈ ਮਨ ਮਧਿ ਕਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥

jaae pare chahoon or te dhaae kai tthaatt ihai man madh kario hai |

ਮਾਰ ਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਪਰੇ ਅਸਿ ਲੈ ਕਰਿ ਮੈ ਦਲੁ ਇਉ ਬਿਹਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥

maar hee maar pukaar pare as lai kar mai dal iau bihario hai |

With swords in their hands, and uttering loud shouts of “Kill, Kill”, the army of demons swarmed from all directions.

ਘੇਰਿ ਲਈ ਚਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਤੇ ਚੰਡਿ ਸੁ ਚੰਦ ਮਨੋ ਪਰਵੇਖ ਪਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥੪੦॥

gher lee chahoon or te chandd su chand mano paravekh pario hai |40|

They all besieged Chandi from all the four sides, like the moon encircled amongst clouds.40.

ਦੇਖਿ ਚਮੂੰ ਮਹਖਾਸੁਰ ਕੀ ਕਰਿ ਚੰਡ ਕੁਵੰਡ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਧਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥

dekh chamoon mahakhaasur kee kar chandd kuvandd prachandd dhario hai |

Scanning the army of Mahishasura, Chandika caught hold of her fierce bow.

ਦਛਨ ਬਾਮ ਚਲਾਇ ਘਨੇ ਸਰ ਕੋਪ ਭਯਾਨਕ ਜੁਧੁ ਕਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥

dachhan baam chalaae ghane sar kop bhayaanak judh kario hai |

With anger, she waged the terrible war by showering the rain of her innumerable shafts.

ਭੰਜਨ ਭੇ ਅਰਿ ਕੇ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਛੁਟ ਸ੍ਰਉਨ ਸਮੂਹ ਧਰਾਨਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥

bhanjan bhe ar ke tan te chhutt sraun samooh dharaan pario hai |

By chopping the forces of the enemy, such a great quantity of blood fell on the ground.

ਆਠਵੋ ਸਿੰਧੁ ਪਚਾਯੋ ਹੁਤੋ ਮਨੋ ਯਾ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਬਿਧਿ ਨੇ ਉਗਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥੪੧॥

aatthavo sindh pachaayo huto mano yaa ran mai bidh ne ugario hai |41|

As though the Lord-God hath created the eighth ocean alongwith already created seven oceans.41.
