Maaroo, Fifth Mehl:

ਕਤ ਕਉ ਡਹਕਾਵਹੁ ਲੋਗਾ ਮੋਹਨ ਦੀਨ ਕਿਰਪਾਈ ॥੧॥

kat kau ddahakaavahu logaa mohan deen kirapaaee |1|

Why do you try to deceive others, O people of the world? The Fascinating Lord is Merciful to the meek. ||1||

ਐਸੀ ਜਾਨਿ ਪਾਈ ॥

aisee jaan paaee |

This is what I have come to know.

ਸਰਣਿ ਸੂਰੋ ਗੁਰ ਦਾਤਾ ਰਾਖੈ ਆਪਿ ਵਡਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

saran sooro gur daataa raakhai aap vaddaaee |1| rahaau |

The brave and heroic Guru, the Generous Giver, gives Sanctuary and preserves our honor. ||1||Pause||

ਭਗਤਾ ਕਾ ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥੨॥

bhagataa kaa aagiaakaaree sadaa sadaa sukhadaaee |2|

He submits to the Will of His devotees; He is forever and ever the Giver of peace. ||2||

ਅਪਨੇ ਕਉ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੀਅਹੁ ਇਕੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ॥੩॥

apane kau kirapaa kareeahu ik naam dhiaaee |3|

Please bless me with Your Mercy, that I may meditate on Your Name alone. ||3||

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦੀਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਾਗੈ ਦੁਤੀਆ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਈ ॥੪॥੪॥੨੦॥

naanak deen naam maagai duteea bharam chukaaee |4|4|20|

Nanak, the meek and humble, begs for the Naam, the Name of the Lord; it eradicates duality and doubt. ||4||4||20||
