ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਲੋਕ ਸਿਵ ਲੋਕਹਿ ਜੈਬੋ ॥

eindr lok siv lokeh jaibo |

Mortals may go to the Realm of Indra, or the Realm of Shiva,

ਓਛੇ ਤਪ ਕਰਿ ਬਾਹੁਰਿ ਐਬੋ ॥੧॥

ochhe tap kar baahur aibo |1|

but because of their hypocrisy and false prayers, they must leave again. ||1||

ਕਿਆ ਮਾਂਗਉ ਕਿਛੁ ਥਿਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥

kiaa maangau kichh thir naahee |

What should I ask for? Nothing lasts forever.

ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਰਖੁ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

raam naam rakh man maahee |1| rahaau |

Enshrine the Lord's Name within your mind. ||1||Pause||

ਸੋਭਾ ਰਾਜ ਬਿਭੈ ਬਡਿਆਈ ॥

sobhaa raaj bibhai baddiaaee |

Fame and glory, power, wealth and glorious greatness

ਅੰਤਿ ਨ ਕਾਹੂ ਸੰਗ ਸਹਾਈ ॥੨॥

ant na kaahoo sang sahaaee |2|

- none of these will go with you or help you in the end. ||2||

ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਤ੍ਰ ਲਛਮੀ ਮਾਇਆ ॥

putr kalatr lachhamee maaeaa |

Children, spouse, wealth and Maya

ਇਨ ਤੇ ਕਹੁ ਕਵਨੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੩॥

ein te kahu kavanai sukh paaeaa |3|

- who has ever obtained peace from these? ||3||

ਕਹਤ ਕਬੀਰ ਅਵਰ ਨਹੀ ਕਾਮਾ ॥

kehat kabeer avar nahee kaamaa |

Says Kabeer, nothing else is of any use.

ਹਮਰੈ ਮਨ ਧਨ ਰਾਮ ਕੋ ਨਾਮਾ ॥੪॥੪॥

hamarai man dhan raam ko naamaa |4|4|

Within my mind is the wealth of the Lord's Name. ||4||4||
