ਬੇਖੁ ਕੀਓ ਹਰਿ ਬਾਮਨ ਕੋ ਬਲਿ ਬਾਵਨ ਜਿਉ ਛਲਬੇ ਕਹੁ ਆਯੋ ॥

bekh keeo har baaman ko bal baavan jiau chhalabe kahu aayo |

ਰੇ ਚਤੁਰਾਨਨ ਤੂ ਬਸਿ ਕਾਨਨ ਕਾ ਕੇ ਕਹੇ ਤਪਿਸਾ ਤਜ ਧਾਯੋ ॥

re chaturaanan too bas kaanan kaa ke kahe tapisaa taj dhaayo |

“O Krishna (Vishnu)! you have put on the garb of a Brahmin and have come to deceive me like the king Bali

ਧੂਮ ਤੇ ਆਗ ਰਹੈ ਨ ਦੁਰੀ ਜਿਮ ਤਿਉ ਛਲ ਤੇ ਤੁਮ ਕੇ ਲਖਿ ਪਾਯੋ ॥

dhoom te aag rahai na duree jim tiau chhal te tum ke lakh paayo |

“Just as the fire cannot be concealed by smoke, in the same manner, seeing you, I have understood your act of deceit

ਮਾਗਹੁ ਜੋ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਅਬ ਮਾਗਨਹਾਰੇ ਕੋ ਰੂਪ ਬਨਾਯੋ ॥੧੫੫੪॥

maagahu jo tumare man mai ab maaganahaare ko roop banaayo |1554|

When you people have come in the garb of a beggar, then beg from me according to you heart’s desire.1554.
