Bilaaval, Fifth Mehl:

ਤਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਚਲਤ ਗਇਆ ॥

tan dhan joban chalat geaa |

Body, wealth and youth pass away.

ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਕਾ ਭਜਨੁ ਨ ਕੀਨੋ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਨਿਸਿ ਭੋਰੁ ਭਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

raam naam kaa bhajan na keeno karat bikaar nis bhor bheaa |1| rahaau |

You have not meditated and vibrated upon the Lord's Name; while you commit your sins of corruption in the night, the light of day dawns upon you. ||1||Pause||

ਅਨਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਭੋਜਨ ਨਿਤ ਖਾਤੇ ਮੁਖ ਦੰਤਾ ਘਸਿ ਖੀਨ ਖਇਆ ॥

anik prakaar bhojan nit khaate mukh dantaa ghas kheen kheaa |

Continually eating all sorts of foods, the teeth in your mouth crumble, decay and fall out.

ਮੇਰੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਮੂਠਉ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਤ ਨਹ ਪਰੀ ਦਇਆ ॥੧॥

meree meree kar kar mootthau paap karat neh paree deaa |1|

Living in egotism and possessiveness, you are deluded; committing sins, you have no kindness for others. ||1||

ਮਹਾ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਘੋਰ ਦੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਗਲਤੁ ਪਇਆ ॥

mahaa bikaar ghor dukh saagar tis meh praanee galat peaa |

The great sins are the terrible ocean of pain; the mortal is engrossed in them.

ਸਰਨਿ ਪਰੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕੀ ਬਾਹ ਪਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਾਢਿ ਲਇਆ ॥੨॥੨੪॥੧੧੦॥

saran pare naanak suaamee kee baah pakar prabh kaadt leaa |2|24|110|

Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of his Lord and Master; taking him by the arm, God has lifted him up and out. ||2||24||110||
