ਵਾਸਿ ਸੁਵਾਸੁ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ਕਰਿ ਸਿੰਮਲਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੁਖ ਫਲ ਲਾਏ ।

vaas suvaas nivaas kar sinmal guramukh sukh fal laae |

Diffusing in all the places like fragrance, the gurmukh makes even the mind oriented, manmukh, fragrant by giving him pleasure-fruit.

ਪਾਰਸ ਹੋਇ ਮਨੂਰੁ ਮਿਲੁ ਕਾਗਹੁ ਪਰਮ ਹੰਸੁ ਕਰਵਾਏ ।

paaras hoe manoor mil kaagahu param hans karavaae |

He transforms iron slag into gold and the crows into the swans of highest order (param hails).

ਪਸੂ ਪਰੇਤਹੁ ਦੇਵ ਕਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੇਵ ਸੇਵ ਭੈ ਪਾਏ ।

pasoo paretahu dev kar satigur dev sev bhai paae |

Consequent to the service of the true Guru, animals and ghosts also become gods.

ਸਭ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਰਖਿ ਸੰਖ ਵਿਚਿ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਲੈ ਲੈ ਹਥਿ ਵਜਾਏ ।

sabh nidhaan rakh sankh vich har jee lai lai hath vajaae |

Having all the treasures in His hand (conch) He goes on distributing them with his hand among the people day and night.

ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਣੁ ਆਖੀਐ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲ ਹੋਇ ਆਪੁ ਛਲਾਏ ।

patit udhaaran aakheeai bhagat vachhal hoe aap chhalaae |

Called as the redeemer of the sinners, the Lord, loving to the devotees, gets Himself deluded by the devotees.

ਗੁਣ ਕੀਤੇ ਗੁਣ ਕਰੇ ਜਗ ਅਵਗੁਣ ਕੀਤੇ ਗੁਣ ਗੁਰ ਭਾਏ ।

gun keete gun kare jag avagun keete gun gur bhaae |

The whole world is good towards the wellwisher alone, but, the Guru loves to do good even to the evil doer.

ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੀ ਜਗ ਵਿਚਿ ਆਏ ।੧੧।

praupakaaree jag vich aae |11|

Guru has come to the world as a benevolent entity.
