ਪੁਰ ਜਨ ਬਾਚ ॥

pur jan baach |

ਭਲਾ ਭਯੋ ਇਹ ਕਹਤ ਪਧਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

bhalaa bhayo ih kehat padhaariyo |

ਜਬ ਲੋਗਨ ਜੂਤਿਨ ਸੋ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

jab logan jootin so maariyo |

After getting thrashing by every body he was told to say, ‘It is God’s blessing.’

ਜਾਤ ਭਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਠਾ ਬਡਭਾਗੀ ॥

jaat bhayo tih tthaa baddabhaagee |

ਜਹ ਅਤਿ ਅਗਨਿ ਨਗਰ ਮਹਿ ਲਾਗੀ ॥੧੧॥

jeh at agan nagar meh laagee |11|

Then he reached a village, which was on fire.(11)

ਗਿਰਿ ਗਿਰਿ ਪਰੈ ਮਹਲ ਜਹ ਭਾਰੇ ॥

gir gir parai mehal jeh bhaare |

ਛਪਰਨ ਕੇ ਜਹ ਉਡੈ ਅਵਾਰੇ ॥

chhaparan ke jeh uddai avaare |

Huge palaces were even crumbling, and the roofs were flying away.

ਭਲਾ ਭਯੋ ਯੌ ਮੂੜ ਪੁਕਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

bhalaa bhayo yau moorr pukaariyo |

ਜਾਹਿ ਸੁਨ︀ਯੋ ਤਾਹੀ ਗਹਿ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੧੨॥

jaeh sunayo taahee geh maariyo |12|

The fool said, “It is God’s blessing”, and when the people heart this they beat him up.(12)
