ਜਬ ਬੇਗਮ ਕਹਿ ਚਰਿਤ ਬਖਾਨ︀ਯੋ ॥

jab begam keh charit bakhaanayo |

ਪ੍ਰਾਨਨ ਤੇ ਪ︀ਯਾਰੀ ਤਿਹ ਜਾਨ︀ਯੋ ॥

praanan te payaaree tih jaanayo |

When the Rani displayed such an Chritar, he considered her much more nearer to his heart.

ਪੁਨਿ ਕਛੁ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰਹਿ ਕਰਿਯੈ ॥

pun kachh kahiyo charitreh kariyai |

Then he whispered to perform some more chicanery,

ਪੁਛਿ ਕਾਜਿਯਹਿ ਯਾ ਕਹ ਮਰਿਯੈ ॥੨੬॥

puchh kaajiyeh yaa keh mariyai |26|

And, thereafter, with the concurrence of Quazi (justice) wanted to assassinate him.(26)
