ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਇਕੁ ਅਰਾਧਣਾ ਇਕੁ ਮਨ ਹੋਇ ਨ ਹੋਇ ਦੁਚਿਤਾ ।

guramukh ik araadhanaa ik man hoe na hoe duchitaa |

The Gurmukhs single-mindedly adore the Lord and do not remain in dubiety.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਤਾਮਸ ਪਿਤਾ ।

guramukh aap gavaaeaa jeevan mukat na taamas pitaa |

By leaving away ego they become liberated and do not allow the darkness (ignorance) to reside in their heart.

ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਅਵੇਸੁ ਕਰਿ ਸਣੁ ਦੂਤਾ ਵਿਖੜਾ ਗੜੁ ਜਿਤਾ ।

gur upades aves kar san dootaa vikharraa garr jitaa |

Wrapt in the teachings of the Guru, they conquer the fort (of body) including the five evils.

ਪੈਰੀ ਪੈ ਪਾ ਖਾਕੁ ਹੋਇ ਪਾਹੁਨੜਾ ਜਗਿ ਹੋਇ ਅਥਿਤਾ ।

pairee pai paa khaak hoe paahunarraa jag hoe athitaa |

They fall at the feet, become like dust (i.e.lowly), consider themselves as guests in the world and are respected by the world.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਗੁਰਸਿਖਾ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਮਾ ਪਿਉ ਭਾਈ ਮਿਤਾ ।

guramukh sevaa gurasikhaa gurasikh maa piau bhaaee mitaa |

Gurmukhs serve the Sikhs considering them their parents, brothers and friends.

ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਬਦ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਮਨੁ ਸਿਤਾ ।

duramat dubidhaa door kar guramat sabad surat man sitaa |

Having given up illwill and dubiousness, they merge their consciousness in the Word and teachings of Guru.

ਛਡਿ ਕੁਫਕੜੁ ਕੂੜੁ ਕੁਧਿਤਾ ।੨।

chhadd kufakarr koorr kudhitaa |2|

They set aside frivolous argument, falsehood and bad deeds.
