Malaar, Fifth Mehl:

ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸਾਚਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥

preetam saachaa naam dhiaae |

Meditate on the True Name of your Beloved.

ਦੂਖ ਦਰਦ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਬਸਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

dookh darad binasai bhav saagar gur kee moorat ridai basaae |1| rahaau |

The pains and sorrows of the terrifying world-ocean are dispelled, by enshrining the Image of the Guru within your heart. ||1||Pause||

ਦੁਸਮਨ ਹਤੇ ਦੋਖੀ ਸਭਿ ਵਿਆਪੇ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਆਇਆ ॥

dusaman hate dokhee sabh viaape har saranaaee aaeaa |

Your enemies shall be destroyed, and all the evil-doers shall perish, when you come to the Sanctuary of the Lord.

ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੈ ਹਾਥ ਦੇ ਰਾਖਿਓ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੧॥

raakhanahaarai haath de raakhio naam padaarath paaeaa |1|

The Savior Lord has given me His Hand and saved me; I have obtained the wealth of the Naam. ||1||

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਸਭਿ ਕਾਟੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਮਨਿ ਦੀਆ ॥

kar kirapaa kilavikh sabh kaatte naam niramal man deea |

Granting His Grace, He has eradicated all my sins; He has placed the Immaculate Naam within my mind.

ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਬਾਹੁੜਿ ਦੂਖ ਨ ਥੀਆ ॥੨॥੪॥੮॥

gun nidhaan naanak man vasiaa baahurr dookh na theea |2|4|8|

O Nanak, the Treasure of Virtue fills my mind; I shall never again suffer in pain. ||2||4||8||
