ਦੇਖਤ ਹੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਬਲੀ ਤਿਹ ਕੇ ਹਮ ਊਪਰਿ ਧਾਇ ਪਰੈ ॥

dekhat ho nrip sayaam balee tih ke ham aoopar dhaae parai |

Those kings were saying, “O kings! he is the mighty Krishna

ਅਪੁਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੋ ਮਿਲਿ ਕਾਜ ਕਰੈ ਮੁਸਲੀ ਹਰਿ ਤੇ ਨਹੀ ਨੈਕੁ ਡਰੈ ॥

apune prabh ko mil kaaj karai musalee har te nahee naik ddarai |

Let us fall upon him and without fearing Krishna and Balram even a little, we may work for our Lord,”

ਧਨੁ ਬਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਗਦਾ ਪਰਸੇ ਬਰਛੇ ਗਹਿ ਤੀਛਨ ਜਾਇ ਅਰੈ ॥

dhan baan kripaan gadaa parase barachhe geh teechhan jaae arai |

They caught their bows, arrows, swords, maces, axes, daggers etc. and went to resist

ਸਬ ਹੀ ਸੁ ਕਹੀ ਇਹ ਈ ਪ੍ਰਨ ਹੈ ਜਦੁਬੀਰ ਹਨੈ ਮਿਲਿ ਜੁਧ ਕਰੈ ॥੧੧੮੪॥

sab hee su kahee ih ee pran hai jadubeer hanai mil judh karai |1184|

They said to all, “Let us together wage a war and kill Krishna.”1184.

ਆਯੁਧ ਲੈ ਸਿਗਰੇ ਕਰ ਮੈ ਸੁ ਮੁਕੰਦ ਕੇ ਊਪਰਿ ਦਉਰ ਪਰੇ ॥

aayudh lai sigare kar mai su mukand ke aoopar daur pare |

Taking their weapons in their hands, they fell upon Krishna

ਸੁ ਧਵਾਇ ਕੈ ਸ︀ਯੰਦਨ ਆਨਿ ਅਰੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਚਾਰ ਅਛੂਹਨਿ ਸੂਰ ਬਰੇ ॥

su dhavaae kai sayandan aan are sang chaar achhoohan soor bare |

They drove their chariots and brought before him their army of four extremely large units

ਕਬਿ ਰਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਅਤਿ ਆਹਵ ਮੈ ਅਘ ਖੰਡਨਿ ਤੇ ਨਹੀ ਨੈਕ ਡਰੇ ॥

kab raam kahai at aahav mai agh khanddan te nahee naik ddare |

The poet Shyam says that they had not even the slightest fear in this dreadful war and rushed forward shouting “Kill. Kill”

ਮਨੋ ਗਾਜਿ ਪ੍ਰਲੈ ਘਨ ਧਾਇ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਤਿਮ ਦਉਰੇ ਸੁ ਮਾਰ ਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਕਰੇ ॥੧੧੮੫॥

mano gaaj pralai ghan dhaae chaliyo tim daure su maar hee maar kare |1185|

It appeared that the clouds of doomsday were thundering.1185.

ਧਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਛੂਹਨਿ ਦੁਇ ਸੰਗਿ ਲੈ ਅਨਗੇਸ ਅਛੂਹਨਿ ਤੀਨ ਸੁ ਲ︀ਯਾਏ ॥

dhan singh achhoohan due sang lai anages achhoohan teen su layaae |

Dhan Singh came with two extremely large units of army and Angesh Singh brought three such units

ਸੋ ਤੁਮ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਸੁਨੋ ਛਲ ਸੋ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਦਸ ਹੂੰ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਮਾਰਿ ਗਿਰਾਏ ॥

so tum sayaam suno chhal so ran mai das hoon nrip maar giraae |

They said, “O Krishna! you have killed the ten kings with deceit

ਚਾਰ ਅਛੂਹਨਿ ਲੈ ਹਮ ਹੂੰ ਦਲ ਤੋ ਪਰ ਆਏ ਹੈ ਕੋਪ ਬਢਾਏ ॥

chaar achhoohan lai ham hoon dal to par aae hai kop badtaae |

ਤਾ ਤੇ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸੁਨਿ ਲੈ ਹਮਰੋ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੋ ਤਜਿ ਆਹਵ ਜਾਹੁ ਪਰਾਏ ॥੧੧੮੬॥

taa te kahiyo sun lai hamaro grih ko taj aahav jaahu paraae |1186|

“We have brought four such units in great anger, therefore, you may leave the war-arena and run away to your home.”1186.
