ਫੁਲੀ ਵਾਸੁ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ਹੈ ਕਿਤੁ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ।

fulee vaas nivaas hai kit jugat samaanee |

The fragrance resides in the flowers but none knows how it takes place there.

ਫਲਾਂ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਜਿਉ ਸਾਦੁ ਬਹੁ ਸਿੰਜੇ ਇਕ ਪਾਣੀ ।

falaan andar jiau saad bahu sinje ik paanee |

Tastes of the fruits are varied, though the same water irrigates them.

ਘਿਉ ਦੁਧੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਵਖਾਣੀਐ ਕੋ ਮਰਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ।

ghiau dudh vich vakhaaneeai ko maram na jaanee |

Butter remains in the milk but none understands this mystery.

ਜਿਉ ਬੈਸੰਤਰੁ ਕਾਠ ਵਿਚਿ ਓਹੁ ਅਲਖ ਵਿਡਾਣੀ ।

jiau baisantar kaatth vich ohu alakh viddaanee |
