ਨਾਰਿ ਭਤਾਰਹੁ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਸੁਖਿ ਸੇਜ ਨ ਚੜੀਐ ।

naar bhataarahu baaharee sukh sej na charreeai |

Without husband a woman cannot enjoy pleasures of bed.

ਪੁਤੁ ਨ ਮੰਨੈ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਕਮਜਾਤੀਂ ਵੜੀਐ ।

put na manai maapiaan kamajaateen varreeai |

If the son disobeys the parents, he is considered a bastard.

ਵਣਜਾਰਾ ਸਾਹਹੁੰ ਫਿਰੈ ਵੇਸਾਹੁ ਨ ਜੜੀਐ ।

vanajaaraa saahahun firai vesaahu na jarreeai |

If a merchant does not keep his word given to his banker, he loses his faith.

ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਉਹੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਥਿਆਰੁ ਨ ਫੜੀਐ ।

saahib sauhain aapane hathiaar na farreeai |

Take not arms against your master.

ਕੂੜੁ ਨ ਪਹੁੰਚੈ ਸਚ ਨੋ ਸਉ ਘਾੜਤ ਘੜੀਐ ।

koorr na pahunchai sach no sau ghaarrat gharreeai |

The falsehood can never reach the truth even if hundred excuses are made.

ਮੁੰਦ੍ਰਾਂ ਕੰਨਿ ਜਿਨਾੜੀਆਂ ਤਿਨ ਨਾਲਿ ਨ ਅੜੀਐ ।੨੧।੩੪। ਚਉਤੀਹ ।
