ਤੁਰੀ ਸੰਖ ਬਾਜੇ ॥

turee sankh baaje |

ਮਹਾ ਬੀਰ ਸਾਜੇ ॥

mahaa beer saaje |

The trumpet and conch resound and the great warriors look impressive.

ਨਚੇ ਤੁੰਦ ਤਾਜੀ ॥

nache tund taajee |

ਮਚੇ ਸੂਰ ਗਾਜੀ ॥੧੯॥

mache soor gaajee |19|

The swift-running horses dance and the brave warriors are excited.19.

ਝਿਮੀ ਤੇਜ ਤੇਗੰ ॥

jhimee tej tegan |

ਮਨੋ ਬਿੱਜ ਬੇਗੰ ॥

mano bij began |

The glistening sharp swords flash like lightning.

ਉਠੈ ਨੱਦ ਨਾਦੰ ॥

autthai nad naadan |

ਧੁਨੰ ਨ੍ਰਿਬਿਖਾਦੰ ॥੨੦॥

dhunan nribikhaadan |20|

The sound of drums arises and is heard continuously. 20.

ਤੁਟੈ ਖੱਗ ਖੋਲੰ ॥

tuttai khag kholan |

ਮੁਖੰ ਮਾਰ ਬੋਲੰ ॥

mukhan maar bolan |

Somewhere the double-edged swords and helmets lie broken, somewhere the warriors shout “kill, kill”.

ਧਕਾ ਧੀਕ ਧੱਕੰ ॥

dhakaa dheek dhakan |

ਗਿਰੇ ਹੱਕ ਬੱਕੰ ॥੨੧॥

gire hak bakan |21|

Somewhere the warriors are forcefully knocked about and somewhere, being puzzled, they have fallen down. 21.

ਦਲੰ ਦੀਹ ਗਾਹੰ ॥

dalan deeh gaahan |

ਅਧੋ ਅੰਗ ਲਾਹੰ ॥

adho ang laahan |

The great army is being trampled and limbs are being chopped into halves.

ਪ੍ਰਯੋਘੰ ਪਰਹਾਰੰ ॥

prayoghan parahaaran |

ਬਕੈ ਮਾਰ ਮਾਰੰ ॥੨੨॥

bakai maar maaran |22|

The long steel maces are struck and the shouts of “kill, kill” are raised.22.

ਨਦੀ ਰਕਤ ਪੂਰੰ ॥

nadee rakat pooran |

ਫਿਰੀ ਗੈਣ ਹੂਰੰ ॥

firee gain hooran |

The stream of blood is full and the houris walk over the sky.

ਗਜੈ ਗੈਣ ਕਾਲੀ ॥

gajai gain kaalee |

ਹਸੀ ਖੱਪਰਾਲੀ ॥੨੩॥

hasee khaparaalee |23|

The goddess Kali is thundering in the sky and the vamps are laughing.23.

ਮਹਾ ਸੂਰ ਸੋਹੰ ॥

mahaa soor sohan |

ਮੰਡੇ ਲੋਹ ਕ੍ਰੋਹੰ ॥

mandde loh krohan |

The great warriors equipped with steel and filled with ire look impressive.

ਮਹਾਂ ਗਰਬ ਗਜਿਯੰ ॥

mahaan garab gajiyan |

ਧੁਨੰ ਮੇਘ ਲਜਿਯੰ ॥੨੪॥

dhunan megh lajiyan |24|

They roar with great pride and hearing them, the clouds feel shy.24.

ਛਕੇ ਲੋਹ ਛੱਕੰ ॥

chhake loh chhakan |

ਮੁਖੰ ਮਾਰ ਬੱਕੰ ॥

mukhan maar bakan |

The warriors are adorned with steel-weapons and shout “kill, kill”.

ਮੁਖੰ ਮੁੱਛ ਬੰਕੰ ॥

mukhan muchh bankan |

ਭਿਰੇ ਛਾਡ ਸੰਕੰ ॥੨੫॥

bhire chhaadd sankan |25|

They have slanting whiskers on their faces and fight without caring for their life. 25.

ਹਕੰ ਹਾਕ ਬਾਜੀ ॥

hakan haak baajee |

ਘਿਰੀ ਸੈਣ ਸਾਜੀ ॥

ghiree sain saajee |

There are shouts and the army hath laid the siege.

ਚਿਰੇ ਚਾਰ ਢੂਕੇ ॥

chire chaar dtooke |

ਮੁਖੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੂਕੇ ॥੨੬॥

mukhan maar kooke |26|

In great anger the warriors rush from all sides shouting “kill, kill”.26.

ਰੁਕੇ ਸੂਰ ਸਾਂਗੰ ॥

ruke soor saangan |

ਮਨੋ ਸਿੰਧ ਗੰਗੰ ॥

mano sindh gangan |

The warriors are meeting with their lances like the Ganges with the sea.

ਢਹੇ ਨਾਲ ਢੱਕੰ ॥

dtahe naal dtakan |

ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਣੰ ਕੜੱਕੰ ॥੨੭॥

kripaanan karrakan |27|

Many of them under cover of their shields even break the striking swards with cracking sound.27.

ਹਕੰ ਹਾਕ ਬਾਜੀ ॥

hakan haak baajee |

ਨਚੇ ਤੁੰਦ ਤਾਜੀ ॥

nache tund taajee |

There are shouts after shouts and the swift-running horses dance.

ਰਸੰ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਪਾਗੇ ॥

ਭਿਰੇ ਰੋਸ ਜਾਗੇ ॥੨੮॥

The warriors are highly ferocious and are fighting with the awakening of anger.28.

ਗਿਰੇ ਸੁੱਧ ਸੇਲੰ ॥

ਭਈ ਰੇਲ ਪੇਲੰ ॥

bhee rel pelan |

The sharp lances have fallen down and there is great knocking.

ਪਲੰਹਾਰ ਨੱਚੇ ॥

palanhaar nache |

ਰਣੰ ਬੀਰ ਮੱਚੇ ॥੨੯॥

ranan beer mache |29|

The eaters of flesh are dancing and the warriors are engaged in hot war.29.

ਹਸੇ ਮਾਸਹਾਰੀ ॥

hase maasahaaree |

ਨਚੇ ਭੂਤ ਭਾਰੀ ॥

nache bhoot bhaaree |

The flesh-eating creatures are laughing and the gangs of ghosts are dancing.

ਮਹਾ ਢੀਠ ਢੂਕੇ ॥

ਮੁਖੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੂਕੇ ॥੩੦॥

mukhan maar kooke |30|

The persistent warriors are moving forward and shouting “kill, kill”.30.

ਗਜੈ ਗੈਣ ਦੇਵੀ ॥

gajai gain devee |

ਮਹਾ ਅੰਸ ਭੇਵੀ ॥

mahaa ans bhevee |

That goddess hath roared in the sky, who hath been brought into being by Supreme KAL.

ਭਲੇ ਭੂਤ ਨਾਚੰ ॥

bhale bhoot naachan |

ਰਸੰ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਰਾਚੰ ॥੩੧॥

The ghosts are dancing excitedly and are saturated with great anger.31.

ਭਿਰੈ ਬੈਰ ਰੁੱਝੈ ॥

bhirai bair rujhai |

ਮਹਾ ਜੋਧ ਜੁੱਝੈ ॥

mahaa jodh jujhai |

The warriors are fighting with each other because of enmity and the great heroes are falling as martyras.

ਝੰਡਾ ਗੱਡ ਗਾਢੇ ॥

jhanddaa gadd gaadte |

ਬਜੇ ਬੈਰ ਬਾਢੇ ॥੩੨॥

baje bair baadte |32|

Fixing their strong banner and with increased enemity they are shouting.32.

ਗਜੰ ਗਾਹ ਬਾਧੇ ॥

gajan gaah baadhe |

ਧਨੁਰ ਬਾਣ ਸਾਧੇ ॥

dhanur baan saadhe |

They have adorned their head with the ornament and have stretched their bows in their hands.

ਬਹੇ ਆਪ ਮੱਧੰ ॥

bahe aap madhan |

ਗਿਰੇ ਅੱਧ ਅੱਧੰ ॥੩੩॥

gire adh adhan |33|

They shoot their arrows confronting the opponents, some of them fall down, having been chopped into halves.33.

ਗਜੰ ਬਾਜ ਜੁੱਝੇ ॥

gajan baaj jujhe |

ਬਲੀ ਬੈਰ ਰੁੱਝੇ ॥

balee bair rujhe |

The elephants and horses are lying dead and the warriors engaged in enmity

ਨ੍ਰਿਭੈ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਬਾਹੈਂ ॥

nribhai sasatr baahain |

ਉਭੈ ਜੀਤ ਚਾਹੈਂ ॥੩੪॥

aubhai jeet chaahain |34|

Fearlessly strike their weapons; both sides wish for their victory.34.

ਗਜੇ ਆਨ ਗਾਜੀ ॥

gaje aan gaajee |

ਨਚੇ ਤੁੰਦ ਤਾਜੀ ॥

nache tund taajee |

The warriors are roaring and the swiftly-running horses dance.

ਹਕੰ ਹਾਕ ਬੱਜੀ ॥

hakan haak bajee |

ਫਿਰੈ ਸੈਨ ਭੱਜੀ ॥੩੫॥

firai sain bhajee |35|

There are shouts and in this way the army is running about. 35.

ਮਦੰ ਮੱਤ ਮਾਤੇ ॥

madan mat maate |

ਰਸੰ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਰਾਤੇ ॥

rasan rudr raate |

The warriors are intoxicated with wine and are absorbed in great rage.

ਗਜੰ ਜੂਹ ਸਾਜੇ ॥

gajan jooh saaje |

ਭਿਰੇ ਰੋਸ ਬਾਜੇ ॥੩੬॥

bhire ros baaje |36|

The group of elephants are adorned and the warriors are fighting with increased anger. 36.

ਝਮੀ ਤੇਜ ਤੇਗੰ ॥

jhamee tej tegan |

ਘਣੰ ਬਿਜ ਬੇਗੰ ॥

ghanan bij began |

The sharp swords glisten like the flash of lightning in the clouds.

ਬਹੇ ਬਾਰ ਬੈਰੀ ॥

bahe baar bairee |

ਜਲੰ ਜਯੋ ਗੰਗੈਰੀ ॥੩੭॥

jalan jayo gangairee |37|

The blows are struck on the enemy like the swift-moving water-insect.37.

ਅਪੋ ਆਪ ਬਾਹੰ ॥

apo aap baahan |

ਉਭੈ ਜੀਤ ਚਾਹੰ ॥

aubhai jeet chaahan |

They strike weapons confronting each other; both sides wish for their victory.

ਰਸੰ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਰਾਤੇ ॥

rasan rudr raate |

ਮਹਾਂ ਮੱਤ ਮਾਤੇ ॥੩੮॥

mahaan mat maate |38|

They are absorbed in violent rage and are highly intoxicated.38.
