ਗੋਪਿਨ ਬਾਚ ਊਧਵ ਸੋ ॥

Speech of gopis addressed to Udhava:

ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

SWAYYA

ਏਕ ਸਮੈ ਹਮ ਕੋ ਸੁਨਿ ਊਧਵ ਕੁੰਜਨ ਮੈ ਫਿਰੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਲੀਯੇ ॥

ek samai ham ko sun aoodhav kunjan mai firai sang leeye |

“O Udhava! there was a time when Krishna used to take us alongwith him and roamed in the alvoces

ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਹਿਤ ਸਾਥ ਘਨੇ ਹਮ ਪੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕੀਯੇ ॥

har joo at hee hit saath ghane ham pai at hee kahiyo prem keeye |

He gave profound love to us

ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਬਸਿ ਗਯੋ ਹਮਰੋ ਮਨ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਭਯੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਨਾਰਿ ਹੀਯੇ ॥

tin ke bas gayo hamaro man hvai at hee sukh bhayo brij naar heeye |

“Our mind was under the control of that Krishna and all the women of Braja were in extreme comfort

ਅਬ ਸੋ ਤਜਿ ਕੈ ਮਥਰਾ ਕੋ ਗਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਕੇ ਬਿਛੁਰੇ ਫਲੁ ਕਵਨ ਜੀਯੇ ॥੯੨੭॥

ab so taj kai matharaa ko gayo tih ke bichhure fal kavan jeeye |927|

Now the same Krishna has abandoned us and gone to Matura, how can we survive without that Krishna?”927.
