ਬੂੰਦਨ ਤੀਰਨ ਸੀ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਕੁਪ ਕੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਕੇ ਪੁਰ ਪੈ ਜਬ ਪਈਯਾ ॥
boondan teeran see sabh hee kup kai brij ke pur pai jab peeyaa |
ਸੋਊ ਸਹੀ ਨ ਗਈ ਕਿਹ ਪੈ ਸਭ ਧਾਮਨ ਬੇਧਿ ਧਰਾ ਲਗਿ ਗਈਯਾ ॥
soaoo sahee na gee kih pai sabh dhaaman bedh dharaa lag geeyaa |
The drops of rain fell on the earth of Braja in fury like the arrows, which could not be endured by anyone, because they were reaching the earth, piercing through the houses
ਸੋ ਪਿਖਿ ਗੋਪਨ ਨੈਨਨ ਸੋ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਅਗੂਆ ਪਹੁਚਈਯਾ ॥
so pikh gopan nainan so binatee har ke agooaa pahucheeyaa |
ਕੋਪ ਭਰਿਯੋ ਹਮ ਪੈ ਮਘਵਾ ਹਮਰੀ ਤੁਮ ਰਛ ਕਰੋ ਉਠਿ ਸਈਯਾ ॥੩੫੮॥
kop bhariyo ham pai maghavaa hamaree tum rachh karo utth seeyaa |358|
Gopas saw this with their own eyes and conveyed this news to Krishna, “O Krishna! Indra has got angry with us, kindly protect us.”358.
ਦੀਸਤ ਹੈ ਨ ਕਹੂੰ ਅਰਣੋਦਿਤ ਘੇਰਿ ਦਸੋ ਦਿਸ ਤੇ ਘਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
deesat hai na kahoon aranodit gher daso dis te ghan aavai |
The clouds are coming, being surrounded from all the ten directions and the sun is not visible anywhere
ਕੋਪ ਭਰੇ ਜਨੁ ਕੇਹਰਿ ਗਾਜਤ ਦਾਮਿਨਿ ਦਾਤ ਨਿਕਾਸਿ ਡਰਾਵੈ ॥
kop bhare jan kehar gaajat daamin daat nikaas ddaraavai |
The clouds are thundering like lion and lighting is frightening by showing its teeth
ਗੋਪਨ ਜਾਇ ਕਰੀ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਪੈ ਸੁਨੀਯੈ ਹਰਿ ਜੋ ਤੁਮ ਭਾਵੈ ॥
gopan jaae karee binatee har pai suneeyai har jo tum bhaavai |
Gopas went to Krishna and requested, “O Krishna, whatever pleaseyou, you may do the same because the lion must confront the lion and
ਸਿੰਘ ਕੇ ਦੇਖਤ ਸਿੰਘਨ ਸ੍ਰਯਾਰ ਕਹੈ ਕੁਪ ਕੈ ਜਮ ਲੋਕ ਪਠਾਵੈ ॥੩੫੯॥
singh ke dekhat singhan srayaar kahai kup kai jam lok patthaavai |359|
In great anger should not cause the jackals to reach the abode of Yama.359.
ਕੋਪ ਭਰੇ ਹਮਰੇ ਪੁਰ ਮੈ ਬਹੁ ਮੇਘਨ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਠਾਟ ਠਟੇ ॥
kop bhare hamare pur mai bahu meghan ke ih tthaatt tthatte |
“In great fury, the clusters of clouds have come down on our city
ਜਿਹ ਕੋ ਗਜ ਬਾਹਨ ਲੋਕ ਕਹੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਪਬਨ ਕੇ ਪਰ ਕੋਪ ਕਟੇ ॥
jih ko gaj baahan lok kahai jin paban ke par kop katte |
They have all been sent by that Indra, who rides upon the elephant named Airavata and who has chopped the wings of the mountains,
ਤੁਮ ਹੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਜਗ ਕੇ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਸਿਰ ਰਾਵਨ ਕਾਟਿ ਸਟੇ ॥
tum ho karataa sabh hee jag ke tum hee sir raavan kaatt satte |
“But you are the Creator of all the world and you had cut the heads of Ravana
ਤੁਮ ਸਿਯੋ ਫੁਨਿ ਦੇਖਿਤ ਗੋਪਨ ਕੋ ਘਨ ਘੋਰਿ ਡਰਾਵਤ ਕੋਪ ਲਟੇ ॥੩੬੦॥
tum siyo fun dekhit gopan ko ghan ghor ddaraavat kop latte |360|
The fires of ire are frightening all, but who is more well-wisher than you for gopas?360.
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਬਡੋ ਸੁਨਿ ਲੋਕ ਤੁਮੈ ਫੁਨਿ ਜਾਮ ਸੁ ਜਾਪ ਕਰੈ ਤੁਹ ਆਠੋ ॥
kaanrah baddo sun lok tumai fun jaam su jaap karai tuh aattho |
“O Krishna! You are the seniormost and the people repeat your Name all the time
ਨੀਰ ਹੁਤਾਸਨ ਭੂਮਿ ਧਰਾਧਰ ਥਾਪਿ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾਠੋ ॥
neer hutaasan bhoom dharaadhar thaap kariyo tum hee prabh kaattho |
You have installed the sovereigns, fire, earth, mountain and trees etc.,
ਬੇਦ ਦਏ ਕਰ ਕੈ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਜਗ ਮੈ ਛਿਨ ਤਾਤ ਭਯੋ ਜਬ ਘਾਠੋ ॥
bed de kar kai tum hee jag mai chhin taat bhayo jab ghaattho |
“Whenever there had been destruction of knowledge in the world, it were you, who gave the knowledge of the Vedas to the people
ਸਿੰਧੁ ਮਥਿਯੋ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਤ੍ਰੀਯ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨ ਸੁਰਾਸੁਰ ਅਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਟੋ ॥੩੬੧॥
sindh mathiyo tum hee treey hvai kar deen suraasur amrit baatto |361|
You churned the ocean and assuming the form of Mohini, you distributed ambrosia amongst the gods and demons.”361.
ਗੋਪਨ ਫੇਰਿ ਕਹੀ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਤੈ ਹਮਰੋ ਕੋਊ ਅਉਰ ਨ ਆਡਾ ॥
gopan fer kahee mukh te bin tai hamaro koaoo aaur na aaddaa |
Gopas said again, “O Krishna! there is no support for us except you
ਮੇਘਨ ਮਾਰਿ ਬਿਥਾਰ ਡਰੋ ਕੁਪਿ ਬਾਲਕ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਜਿਉ ਤੁਮ ਗਾਡਾ ॥
meghan maar bithaar ddaro kup baalak moorat jiau tum gaaddaa |
We are frightened by the destruction of the clouds like the child fearing a dreadful portrait
ਮੇਘਨ ਕੋ ਪਿਖਿ ਰੂਪ ਭਯਾਨਕ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਡਰੈ ਫੁਨਿ ਜੀਉ ਅਸਾਡਾ ॥
meghan ko pikh roop bhayaanak bahut ddarai fun jeeo asaaddaa |
“Our heart is getting very fearful on seeing the horrible form of the clouds
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਅਬੈ ਪੁਸਤੀਨ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਆਪ ਉਤਾਰ ਡਰੋ ਸਭ ਗੋਪਨ ਜਾਡਾ ॥੩੬੨॥
kaanrah abai pusateen hvai aap utaar ddaro sabh gopan jaaddaa |362|
O Krishna! get ready to remove the suffering of the gopas.”362.
ਆਇਸੁ ਪਾਇ ਪੁਰੰਦਰ ਕੋ ਘਨਘੋਰ ਘਟਾ ਚਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਤੇ ਆਵੈ ॥
aaeis paae purandar ko ghanaghor ghattaa chahoon or te aavai |
ਕੈ ਕਰ ਕ੍ਰੁਧ ਕਿਧੋ ਮਨ ਮਧਿ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਊਪਰ ਆਨ ਕੈ ਬਹੁ ਬਲ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
kai kar krudh kidho man madh brij aoopar aan kai bahu bal paavai |
Under the orders of Indra, the dark clouds are surrounding from all the four directions and coming over Braja and being enraged in mind are powerfully exhibiting their force
ਅਉ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਚਪਲਾ ਚਮਕੈ ਬਹੁ ਬੂੰਦਨ ਤੀਰਨ ਸੀ ਬਰਖਾਵੈ ॥
aau at hee chapalaa chamakai bahu boondan teeran see barakhaavai |
The lighting is flashing and the drops of water are raining like arrows
ਗੋਪ ਕਹੈ ਹਮ ਤੇ ਭਈ ਚੂਕ ਸੁ ਯਾ ਤੇ ਹਮੈ ਗਰਜੈ ਔ ਡਰਾਵੈ ॥੩੬੩॥
gop kahai ham te bhee chook su yaa te hamai garajai aau ddaraavai |363|
The gopas said, “We have erred in not worshipping Indra, therefore the clouds are thundering.”363.
ਆਜ ਭਯੋ ਉਤਪਾਤ ਬਡੋ ਡਰੁ ਸਮਾਨਿ ਸਭੈ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਸ ਪੁਕਾਰੇ ॥
aaj bhayo utapaat baddo ddar samaan sabhai har paas pukaare |
A great crime has been committed today, therefore all, having been frightened and crying for Krishna, said,
ਕੋਪ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਹਮ ਪੈ ਮਘਵਾ ਤਿਹ ਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਪੈ ਬਰਖੇ ਘਨ ਭਾਰੇ ॥
kop kariyo ham pai maghavaa tih te brij pai barakhe ghan bhaare |
“Indra has become angry with us, therefore it is raining cats and dogs over Braja
ਭਛਿ ਭਖਿਯੋ ਇਹ ਕੋ ਤੁਮ ਹੂ ਤਿਹ ਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਕੇ ਜਨ ਕੋਪਿ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ॥
bhachh bhakhiyo ih ko tum hoo tih te brij ke jan kop sanghaare |
“You have eaten the material brought over Indra’s worship, therefore, in great rage, he is destroying the people Braja
ਰਛਕ ਹੋ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਜਗ ਕੇ ਤੁਮ ਰਛ ਕਰੋ ਹਮਰੀ ਰਖਵਾਰੇ ॥੩੬੪॥
rachhak ho sabh hee jag ke tum rachh karo hamaree rakhavaare |364|
O Lord! You are the protector of all, therefore protect us also.364.
ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਅਬੈ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਇਨ ਕੋ ਤੁਮ ਕਾਢੋ ॥
hoe kripaal abai bhagavaan kripaa kar kai in ko tum kaadto |
“O Lord! kindly save us from these clouds
ਕੋਪ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਹਮ ਪੈ ਮਘਵਾ ਦਿਨ ਸਾਤ ਇਹਾ ਬਰਖਿਯੋ ਘਨ ਗਾਢੋ ॥
kop kariyo ham pai maghavaa din saat ihaa barakhiyo ghan gaadto |
Indra has become angry with us and for the last seven day, there had been heavy raining here
ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਬਲੀ ਇਨਿ ਰਛਨ ਕੋ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਕਰਿ ਕੋਪ ਭਯੋ ਉਠਿ ਠਾਢੋ ॥
bhraat balee in rachhan ko tab hee kar kop bhayo utth tthaadto |
ਜੀਵ ਗਯੋ ਘਟ ਮੇਘਨ ਕੋ ਸਭ ਗੋਪਨ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਾਢੋ ॥੩੬੫॥
jeev gayo ghatt meghan ko sabh gopan ke man aanand baadto |365|
Then getting infuriated, Balram got up for their protection and seeing him arising, on one side, the clouds became fearful and on the other side, there was increase of joy in the mind of gopas.365.
ਗੋਪਨ ਕੀ ਸੁਨ ਕੈ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਗੋਪ ਸਭੈ ਅਪਨੇ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਣੇ ॥
gopan kee sun kai binatee har gop sabhai apane kar jaane |
Hearing the request of the gopas, Krishna called all the gopas with the signs of his hand
ਮੇਘਨ ਕੇ ਬਧਬੇ ਕਹੁ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਉਠਿ ਕੈ ਕਰਤਾ ਜੋਊ ਤਾਣੇ ॥
meghan ke badhabe kahu kaanrah chaliyo utth kai karataa joaoo taane |
The powerful Krishna moved for killing the clouds
ਤਾ ਛਬਿ ਕੇ ਜਸ ਉਚ ਮਹਾ ਕਬਿ ਨੇ ਅਪਨੇ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਪਹਿਚਾਣੇ ॥
taa chhab ke jas uch mahaa kab ne apane man mai pahichaane |
ਇਉ ਚਲ ਗਯੋ ਜਿਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਮ੍ਰਿਗੀ ਪਿਖਿ ਆਇ ਹੈ ਜਾਨ ਕਿਧੋ ਮੂਹਿ ਡਾਣੇ ॥੩੬੬॥
eiau chal gayo jim singh mrigee pikh aae hai jaan kidho moohi ddaane |366|
The poet considering this spectacle in his mind, says, “Krishna moved like a roaring lion, seeing the deer, with his mouth wide open.”366.
ਮੇਘਨ ਕੇ ਬਧ ਕਾਜ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਕਿਧੋ ਰਸ ਭੀਤਰ ਰਤਾ ॥
meghan ke badh kaaj chaliyo bhagavaan kidho ras bheetar rataa |
With great ire, Krishna moved to destroy the clouds
ਰਾਮ ਭਯੋ ਜੁਗ ਤੀਸਰ ਮਧਿ ਮਰਿਯੋ ਤਿਨ ਰਾਵਨ ਕੈ ਰਨ ਅਤਾ ॥
raam bhayo jug teesar madh mariyo tin raavan kai ran ataa |
He had destroyed Ravana in Treta age as Ram
ਅਉਧ ਕੇ ਬੀਚ ਬਧੂ ਬਰਬੇ ਕਹੁ ਕੋਪ ਕੈ ਬੈਲ ਨਥੇ ਜਿਹ ਸਤਾ ॥
aaudh ke beech badhoo barabe kahu kop kai bail nathe jih sataa |
He had powerfully ruled Oudh alongwith Sita
ਗੋਪਨ ਗੋਧਨ ਰਛਨ ਕਾਜ ਤੁਰਿਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਕੋ ਗਜ ਜਿਉ ਮਦ ਮਤਾ ॥੩੬੭॥
gopan godhan rachhan kaaj turiyo tih ko gaj jiau mad mataa |367|
The same Krishna moved today for the protection of gopas and cows like an intoxicated elephant.367.
ਕਰਬੇ ਕਹੁ ਰਛ ਸੁ ਗੋਪਨ ਕੀ ਬਰ ਪੂਟ ਲਯੋ ਨਗ ਕੋ ਪਹਿ ਹਥਾ ॥
karabe kahu rachh su gopan kee bar poott layo nag ko peh hathaa |
For the protection of gopas, Krishna, greatly infuriated, uprooted the mountain and placed it on his hand
ਤਨ ਕੋ ਨ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਬਲ ਰੰਚਕ ਤਾਹ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਜੁ ਹੁਤੋ ਕਰ ਬੀਚ ਜਥਾ ॥
tan ko na kariyo bal ranchak taah kariyo ju huto kar beech jathaa |
While doing this, he did not use even an iota of his power
ਨ ਚਲੀ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਗੋਪਨ ਪੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਗਜ ਜਾਹਿ ਰਥਾ ॥
n chalee tin kee kichh gopan pai kab sayaam kahai gaj jaeh rathaa |
No force of Indra could work on gopas and he, in embarrassment and with down-cast face,
ਮੁਖਿ ਨ︀ਯਾਇ ਖਿਸਾਇ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਪੈ ਇਹ ਬੀਚ ਚਲੀ ਜਗ ਕੇ ਸੁ ਕਥਾ ॥੩੬੮॥
mukh nayaae khisaae chaliyo grih pai ih beech chalee jag ke su kathaa |368|
He went towards his home, the story of the glory of Krishna became prevalent in the whole world.368.
ਨੰਦ ਕੋ ਨੰਦ ਬਡੋ ਸੁਖ ਕੰਦ ਰਿਪੁ ਆਰ ਸੁਰੰਦ ਸਬੁਧਿ ਬਿਸਾਰਦ ॥
nand ko nand baddo sukh kand rip aar surand sabudh bisaarad |
Krishna, the son of Nand, is the giver of comfort to all, enemy of Indra, and master of true intellect
ਆਨਨ ਚੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਕਹੁ ਮੰਦ ਕਹੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਜਪੈ ਜਿਹ ਨਾਰਦ ॥
aanan chand prabhaa kahu mand kahai kab sayaam japai jih naarad |
The face of the Lord, who is perfect in all arts, ever gives its mild light like the moon the poet Shyam says that the sage Narada also remembers him,
ਤਾ ਗਿਰਿ ਕੋਪ ਉਠਾਇ ਲਯੋ ਜੋਊ ਸਾਧਨ ਕੋ ਹਰਤਾ ਦੁਖ ਦਾਰਦ ॥
taa gir kop utthaae layo joaoo saadhan ko harataa dukh daarad |
The same Krishna, being highly infuriated, carried the mountain and there was no effect of the clouds on the people below and
ਮੇਘ ਪਰੇ ਉਪਰਿਯੋ ਨ ਕਛੂ ਪਛਤਾਇ ਗਏ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੋ ਉਠਿ ਬਾਰਦ ॥੩੬੯॥
megh pare upariyo na kachhoo pachhataae ge grih ko utth baarad |369|
In this way, repenting, the clouds returned to their homes.369.
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਉਪਾਰਿ ਲਯੋ ਕਰ ਮੋ ਗਿਰਿ ਏਕ ਪਰੀ ਨਹੀ ਬੂੰਦ ਸੁ ਪਾਨੀ ॥
kaanrah upaar layo kar mo gir ek paree nahee boond su paanee |
Krishna uprooted the mountain and placed it on his hand and not even one drop of water fell on the earth
ਫੇਰਿ ਕਹੀ ਹਸਿ ਕੈ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਮਘਵਾ ਜੁ ਭਯੋ ਮੁਹਿ ਸਾਨੀ ॥
fer kahee has kai mukh te har ko maghavaa ju bhayo muhi saanee |
Then Krishna said smilingly, “Who is this Indra who will confront me?
ਮਾਰਿ ਡਰਿਯੋ ਮੁਰ ਮੈ ਮਧੁ ਕੀਟਭ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ਹਮੈ ਮਘਵਾ ਪਤਿ ਮਾਨੀ ॥
maar ddariyo mur mai madh keettabh maariyo hamai maghavaa pat maanee |
“I had killed Madhu and Kaitabh also and this Indra had come to kill me
ਗੋਪਨ ਮੈ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਕਹੀ ਸੋਊ ਫੈਲ ਪਰੀ ਜਗ ਬੀਚ ਕਹਾਨੀ ॥੩੭੦॥
gopan mai bhagavaan kahee soaoo fail paree jag beech kahaanee |370|
In this way, whatever words were uttered by the Lord (Krishna) amongst gopas, they spread throughout the world like a story.370.
ਗੋਪਨ ਕੀ ਕਰਬੇ ਕਹੁ ਰਛ ਸਤਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਪੈ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਜਬ ਕੋਪੇ ॥
gopan kee karabe kahu rachh satakrit pai har jee jab kope |
ਇਉ ਗਿਰਿ ਕੇ ਤਰਿ ਭਯੋ ਉਠਿ ਠਾਢਿ ਮਨੋ ਰੁਪ ਕੈ ਪਗ ਕੇਹਰਿ ਰੋਪੇ ॥
eiau gir ke tar bhayo utth tthaadt mano rup kai pag kehar rope |
When Krishna became angry on Indra for the protection of gopas, then he fell down and got up like the one whose foot slips away
ਜਿਉ ਜੁਗ ਅੰਤ ਮੈ ਅੰਤਕ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕਰਿ ਜੀਵਨ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਕੇ ਉਰਿ ਘੋਪੇ ॥
jiau jug ant mai antak hvai kar jeevan ke sabh ke ur ghope |
At the end of the age, all the world of beings terminated and then a new world arises gradually
ਜਿਉ ਜਨ ਕੋ ਮਨ ਹੋਤ ਹੈ ਲੋਪ ਤਿਸੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਮੇਘ ਭਏ ਸਭ ਲੋਪੇ ॥੩੭੧॥
jiau jan ko man hot hai lop tisee bidh megh bhe sabh lope |371|
Just as the mind of an ordinary man sometimes falls down and sometimes rises very high, in the same manner, all the clouds disappeared.371.
ਹੋਇ ਸਤਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਊਪਰ ਕੋਪ ਸੁ ਰਾਖ ਲਈ ਸਭ ਗੋਪ ਦਫਾ ॥
hoe satakrit aoopar kop su raakh lee sabh gop dafaa |
Lowering the prestige of Indra, Krishna saved the gopas and the animals from destruction
ਤਿਨਿ ਮੇਘ ਬਿਦਾਰ ਦਏ ਛਿਨ ਮੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਦੈਤ ਕਰੇ ਸਭ ਏਕ ਗਫਾ ॥
tin megh bidaar de chhin mai jin dait kare sabh ek gafaa |
Just as a demon devours a being at one time only, in the same manner, all the clouds were destroyed in an instant
ਕਰਿ ਕਉਤੁਕ ਪੈ ਰਿਪੁ ਟਾਰ ਦਏ ਬਿਨੁ ਹੀ ਧਰਏ ਸਰ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਜਫਾ ॥
kar kautuk pai rip ttaar de bin hee dhare sar sayaam jafaa |
ਸਭ ਗੋਪਨ ਕੀ ਕਰਬੈ ਕਹੁ ਰਛ ਸੁ ਸਕ੍ਰਨ ਲੀਨ ਲਪੇਟ ਸਫਾ ॥੩੭੨॥
sabh gopan kee karabai kahu rachh su sakran leen lapett safaa |372|
With his amorous play, Krishna routed all his enemies and all the people began to kill Krishna and in this way, Indra folded up his maya for the protection of gopas.372.
ਜੁ ਲਈ ਸਭ ਮੇਘ ਲਪੇਟ ਸਫਾ ਅਰੁ ਲੀਨੋ ਹੈ ਪਬ ਉਪਾਰ ਜਬੈ ॥
ju lee sabh megh lapett safaa ar leeno hai pab upaar jabai |
ਇਹ ਰੰਚਕ ਸੋ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਗਰੂਓ ਗਿਰਿ ਚਿੰਤ ਕਰੀ ਮਨਿ ਬੀਚ ਸਬੈ ॥
eih ranchak so ih hai garooo gir chint karee man beech sabai |
When the clouds went away and Krishna uprooted the mountain, then removing his anxiety from his mind that mountain seemed very light to him
ਇਹ ਦੈਤਨ ਕੋ ਮਰਤਾ ਕਰਤਾ ਸੁਖ ਹੈ ਦਿਵਿਯਾ ਜੀਯ ਦਾਨ ਅਬੈ ॥
eih daitan ko marataa karataa sukh hai diviyaa jeey daan abai |
Krishna is the destroyer of the demons, giver of the comforts and the donor of the life-force
ਇਹ ਕੋ ਤੁਮ ਧ︀ਯਾਨ ਧਰੋ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਨਹਿ ਧ︀ਯਾਨ ਧਰੋ ਤੁਮ ਅਉਰ ਕਬੈ ॥੩੭੩॥
eih ko tum dhayaan dharo sabh hee neh dhayaan dharo tum aaur kabai |373|
All the people should meditate on him, forsaking all meditations on others.373.
ਸਭ ਮੇਘ ਗਏ ਘਟ ਕੇ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਹਰਖੇ ਫੁਨਿ ਗੋਪ ਸਭੈ ॥
sabh megh ge ghatt ke jab hee tab hee harakhe fun gop sabhai |
ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਲਗੇ ਕਹਨੇ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਦਯੋ ਹਮ ਦਾਨ ਅਭੈ ॥
eih bhaat lage kahane mukh te bhagavaan dayo ham daan abhai |
When the clouds dwindled away, then all the gopas were pleased and said, “The Lord (Krishna) has given us fearlessness
ਮਘਵਾ ਜੁ ਕਰੀ ਕੁਪਿ ਦਉਰ ਹਮੂ ਪਰ ਸੋ ਤਿਹ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਬੇਰ ਲਭੈ ॥
maghavaa ju karee kup daur hamoo par so tih ko nahee ber labhai |
Indra had attacked us in his fury, but he is invisible now and
ਅਬ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਤੇ ਹੈ ਘਟ ਬਾਦਰ ਏਕ ਨ ਦੀਸਤ ਬੀਚ ਨਭੈ ॥੩੭੪॥
ab kaanrah prataap te hai ghatt baadar ek na deesat beech nabhai |374|
Through the glory of Krishna, there is not even one cloud in the sky.374.
ਗੋਪ ਕਹੈ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਬਲੀ ਬਰ ਹੈ ਬਲ ਮੈ ॥
gop kahai sabh hee mukh te ih kaanrah balee bar hai bal mai |
All the gopas said, “Krishna is extremely powerful
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੂਦਿ ਕਿਲੇ ਸਤ ਮੋਰ ਮਰਿਯੋ ਜਿਨਿ ਜੁਧ ਸੰਖਾਸੁਰ ਸੋ ਜਲ ਮੈ ॥
jin kood kile sat mor mariyo jin judh sankhaasur so jal mai |
He, who killed Mur by jumping in the fort and Shankhasura in water
ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਜਗ ਕੋ ਅਰੁ ਫੈਲ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਜਲ ਅਉ ਥਲ ਮੈ ॥
eih hai karataa sabh hee jag ko ar fail rahiyo jal aau thal mai |
ਸੋਊ ਆਇ ਪ੍ਰਤਛਿ ਭਯੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਮੈ ਜੋਊ ਜੋਗ ਜੁਤੋ ਰਹੈ ਓਝਲ ਮੈ ॥੩੭੫॥
soaoo aae pratachh bhayo brij mai joaoo jog juto rahai ojhal mai |375|
He is the Creator of the whole world and pervades on the plains and in waters, He, who was felt imperceptible earlier, He has come now in Braja apparently.375.
ਮੋਰ ਮਰਿਯੋ ਜਿਨਿ ਕੂਦ ਕਿਲੈ ਸਤ ਸੰਧਿ ਜਰਾ ਜਿਹ ਸੈਨ ਮਰੀ ॥
mor mariyo jin kood kilai sat sandh jaraa jih sain maree |
ਨਰਾਕਸੁਰ ਜਾਹਿ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਰਕਸੀ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਗਜ ਕੀ ਜਿਹ ਰਛ ਕਰੀ ॥
naraakasur jaeh kariyo rakasee birathee gaj kee jih rachh karee |
He, who killed the demon Mur, by jumping in the fort, and who destroyed the army of Jarasandh, who destroyed Narakasura and who protected the elephant from octopus
ਜਿਹ ਰਾਖਿ ਲਈ ਪਤਿ ਪੈ ਦ੍ਰੁਪਤੀ ਸਿਲ ਜਾ ਲਗਤਿਉ ਪਗ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰੀ ॥
jih raakh lee pat pai drupatee sil jaa lagatiau pag paar paree |
ਅਤਿ ਕੋਪਤ ਮੇਘਨ ਅਉ ਮਘਵਾ ਇਹ ਰਾਖ ਲਈ ਨੰਦ ਲਾਲਿ ਧਰੀ ॥੩੭੬॥
at kopat meghan aau maghavaa ih raakh lee nand laal dharee |376|
He, who protected the honour of Daropati and with whose touch, Ahalya, who had been transformed into a stone, was saved, the same Krishna protected us from extremely enraged clouds and Indra.376.
ਮਘਵਾ ਜਿਹ ਫੇਰਿ ਦਈ ਪ੍ਰਤਨਾ ਜਿਹ ਦੈਤੁ ਮਰੇ ਇਹ ਕਾਨ ਬਲੀ ॥
maghavaa jih fer dee pratanaa jih dait mare ih kaan balee |
He, who caused Indra to run away, who killed Putana and other demons, he is Krishna
ਜਿਹ ਕੋ ਜਨ ਨਾਮ ਜਪੈ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਜਿਹ ਕੋ ਫੁਨਿ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਹੈ ਬੀਰ ਹਲੀ ॥
jih ko jan naam japai man mai jih ko fun bhraat hai beer halee |
He also is Krishna, whose name is remembered by all in the mind and whose brother is the brave Haldhar
ਜਿਹ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਗੋਪਨ ਕੀ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਕੁਪ ਤੇ ਛਿਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਟਲੀ ॥
jih te sabh gopan kee bipataa har ke kup te chhin maeh ttalee |
Because of the Krishna, the trouble of gopas was finished in an instant and this is the praise of the same Lord,
ਤਿਹ ਕੋ ਲਖ ਕੈ ਉਪਮਾ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਕਰੈ ਜਿਹ ਕੀ ਸੁਤ ਕਉਲ ਕਲੀ ॥੩੭੭॥
tih ko lakh kai upamaa bhagavaan karai jih kee sut kaul kalee |377|
Who transforms ordinary buds into bit lotus-flowers and raises very high an ordinary man.377.
ਕਾਨ ਉਪਾਰ ਲਯੋ ਗਰੂਓ ਗਿਰਿ ਧਾਮਿ ਖਿਸਾਇ ਗਯੋ ਮਘਵਾ ॥
kaan upaar layo garooo gir dhaam khisaae gayo maghavaa |
On this side, Krishna carried the Goverdhan mountain, on the other side Indra,
ਸੋ ਉਪਜਿਯੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਭੂਮਿ ਬਿਖੈ ਜੋਊ ਤੀਸਰ ਜੁਗ ਭਯੋ ਰਘੁਵਾ ॥
so upajiyo brij bhoom bikhai joaoo teesar jug bhayo raghuvaa |
Feeling ashamed in his mind, said that He, who was Ram in Treta age, has now incarnated in Braja
ਅਬ ਕਉਤੁਕਿ ਲੋਕ ਦਿਖਾਵਨ ਕੋ ਜਗ ਮੈ ਫੁਨਿ ਰੂਪ ਧਰਿਯੋ ਲਘੁਵਾ ॥
ab kautuk lok dikhaavan ko jag mai fun roop dhariyo laghuvaa |
And in order to show to the world his amorous play, he has assumed the short-statured form of man
ਥਨ ਐਚ ਹਨੀ ਛਿਨ ਮੈ ਪੁਤਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਕੇ ਲੇਤ ਹਰੇ ਅਘਵਾ ॥੩੭੮॥
than aich hanee chhin mai putanaa har naam ke let hare aghavaa |378|
He killed Putana in an instant by pulling her teat and also destroyed the demon Aghasura in an instant.378.
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਬਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਯੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਮੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੋਪਨ ਕੇ ਦੁਖ ਕਾਟਿ ਸਟੇ ॥
kaanrah balee pragattiyo brij mai jin gopan ke dukh kaatt satte |
The mighty Krishna was born in Braja, who removed all the sufferings of gopas
ਸੁਖ ਸਾਧਨ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਦੁਖ ਦੈਤਨ ਕੇ ਸੁਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਘਟੇ ॥
sukh saadhan ke pragatte tab hee dukh daitan ke sun naam ghatte |
On his manifestation, the comforts of the saints increased and the sufferings being created by the demons were lessened
ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਜਗ ਕੋ ਬਲਿ ਕੋ ਅਰੁ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਹਿ ਲੋਕ ਬਟੇ ॥
eih hai karataa sabh hee jag ko bal ko ar indreh lok batte |
He is the Creator of the whole world and is the dispeller of the pride of Bali and Indra
ਤਿਹ ਨਾਮ ਕੇ ਲੇਤ ਕਿਧੋ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਲਟ ਜਾਤ ਸਭੈ ਤਨ ਦੋਖ ਲਟੇ ॥੩੭੯॥
tih naam ke let kidho mukh te latt jaat sabhai tan dokh latte |379|
By repeating His Name, the clusters of the sufferings are destroyed.379.
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਬਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਯੋ ਪੁਤਨਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਮਾਰਿ ਡਰੀ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੰਸ ਪਠੀ ॥
kaanrah balee pragattiyo putanaa jin maar ddaree nrip kans patthee |
The mighty Krishna killed Putana, who was sent by Kansa
ਇਨ ਹੀ ਰਿਪੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਡਰਿਯੋ ਸੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਨਾਵ੍ਰਤ ਪੈ ਜਨਿ ਸੋ ਇਹ ਥਿਤ ਛਠੀ ॥
ein hee rip maar ddariyo su trinaavrat pai jan so ih thit chhatthee |
He also killed the enemy named Tranavrata
ਸਭ ਜਾਪੁ ਜਪੈ ਇਹ ਕੋ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਸਭ ਗੋਪ ਕਹੈ ਇਹ ਅਤਿ ਹਠੀ ॥
sabh jaap japai ih ko man mai sabh gop kahai ih at hatthee |
All should remember Him and the gopas also say that He is very persistent
ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਨਾ ਫੁਨਿ ਮੇਘਨ ਕੀ ਇਨਹੂ ਕਰਿ ਦੀ ਛਿਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਮਠੀ ॥੩੮੦॥
at hee pratinaa fun meghan kee inahoo kar dee chhin maeh matthee |380|
He fulfils the task, which he takes up in his hand the same Krishna also colled down the power of the clouds.380.
ਗੋਪ ਕਹੈ ਇਹ ਸਾਧਨ ਕੇ ਦੁਖ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਰੈ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਗਡੈ ॥
gop kahai ih saadhan ke dukh door karai man maeh gaddai |
The gopas say that he has established himself in the mind of all on remonving the sufferings of the saints
ਇਹ ਹੈ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਬਡੋ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਯੋ ਸੋਊ ਕੋ ਇਹ ਸੋ ਛਿਨ ਆਇ ਅਡੈ ॥
eih hai balavaan baddo pragattiyo soaoo ko ih so chhin aae addai |
He is extremely potent, and there is none who can confront him
ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਕਹੈ ਫੁਨਿ ਜਾਪਤ ਯਾ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਬਡੈ ॥
sabh lok kahai fun jaapat yaa kab sayaam kahai bhagavaan baddai |
All repeat His Name, the poet Shyam says, that the Lord (Krishna) is the gretest of all
ਤਿਨ ਮੋਛ ਲਹੀ ਛਿਨ ਮੈ ਇਹ ਤੇ ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਜਰਰਾ ਕੁ ਜਡੈ ॥੩੮੧॥
tin mochh lahee chhin mai ih te jin ke man mai jararaa ku jaddai |381|
He, who saw him slightly with his mind, he was assuredly allured by his power and beauty in an instant.381.
ਮੇਘ ਗਏ ਪਛੁਤਾਇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੰ ਕਹੁ ਗੋਪਿਨ ਕੋ ਮਨ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਾਢੇ ॥
megh ge pachhutaae grihan kahu gopin ko man aanand baadte |
The clouds on repenting and the gopas on being pleased went away to their homes
ਹ੍ਵੈ ਇਕਠੇ ਸੁ ਚਲੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੋ ਸਭ ਆਇ ਭਏ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਭੀਤਰ ਠਾਢੇ ॥
hvai ikatthe su chale grih ko sabh aae bhe grih bheetar tthaadte |
All the gopas gathered in a house,
ਆਇ ਲਗੇ ਕਹਿਨੇ ਤ੍ਰੀਯ ਸੋ ਇਨ ਹੀ ਛਿਨ ਮੈ ਮਘਵਾ ਕੁਪਿ ਕਾਢੇ ॥
aae lage kahine treey so in hee chhin mai maghavaa kup kaadte |
And said to their wives, “This Krishna, in great rage, caused Indra to run away in an instant
ਸਤਿ ਲਹਿਯੋ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਹਮੈ ਇਨ ਹੀ ਹਮਰੇ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਦੁਖ ਕਾਢੇ ॥੩੮੨॥
sat lahiyo bhagavaan hamai in hee hamare sabh hee dukh kaadte |382|
We are telling the truth it is only through His Grace that our sufferings have been destroyed.”382.
ਕੋਪ ਭਰੇ ਪਤਿ ਲੋਕਹ ਕੇ ਦਲ ਆਬ ਰਖੇ ਠਟਿ ਸਾਜ ਅਣੇ ॥
kop bhare pat lokah ke dal aab rakhe tthatt saaj ane |
ਭਗਵਾਨ ਜੂ ਠਾਢ ਭਯੋ ਕਰਿ ਲੈ ਗਿਰਿ ਪੈ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਕੁਛ ਹੂੰ ਨ ਗਣੇ ॥
bhagavaan joo tthaadt bhayo kar lai gir pai kar kai kuchh hoon na gane |
The gopas said again, “The armies of the clouds of the infuriated Indra showered heavy rain and the Lord (Krishna) carrying the mountains on his hand, stood fearlessly
ਅਤਿ ਤਾ ਛਬਿ ਕੇ ਜਸ ਉਚ ਮਹਾ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਿਧੌ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਭਣੇ ॥
at taa chhab ke jas uch mahaa kab sayaam kidhau ih bhaat bhane |
ਜਿਮੁ ਬੀਰ ਬਡੋ ਕਰਿ ਸਿਪਰ ਲੈ ਕਛੁ ਕੈ ਨ ਗਨੇ ਪੁਨਿ ਤੀਰ ਘਣੇ ॥੩੮੩॥
jim beer baddo kar sipar lai kachh kai na gane pun teer ghane |383|
The poet Shyam has said about this spectacle that Krishna was standing like a warrior with his shield, not caring for the rain of arrows.383.
ਗੋਪ ਕਹੈ ਇਹ ਸਾਧਨ ਕੋ ਦੁਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰੈ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਗਡੈ ॥
gop kahai ih saadhan ko dukh door karai man maeh gaddai |
The gopas said, “He has removed the suffering of the saints and He abides in the minds of all
ਇਹ ਹੈ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਬਡੋ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਓ ਸੋਊ ਕੋ ਇਹ ਸੋ ਛਿਨ ਆਇ ਅਡੈ ॥
eih hai balavaan baddo pragattio soaoo ko ih so chhin aae addai |
He has manifested Himself in an extremely mighty form and there is none to resist Him
ਸਭ ਲੋਗ ਕਹੈ ਫੁਨਿ ਖਾਪਤ ਯਾ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਬਡੈ ॥
sabh log kahai fun khaapat yaa kab sayaam kahai bhagavaan baddai |
ਤਿਹ ਮੋਛ ਲਹੀ ਛਿਨ ਮੈ ਇਹ ਤੇ ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਜਰਰਾ ਕੁ ਜਡੈ ॥੩੮੪॥
tih mochh lahee chhin mai ih te jin ke man mai jararaa ku jaddai |384|
He, whose mind was slightly absorbed in Him, he was assuredly allured by his power and beauty.384.
ਕਰਿ ਕੋਪ ਨਿਵਾਰ ਦਏ ਮਘਵਾ ਦਲ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ੍ਰਹ ਬਡੇ ਬਲਬੀਰ ਬ੍ਰਤੀ ॥
kar kop nivaar de maghavaa dal kaanrahrah badde balabeer bratee |
ਜਿਮ ਕੋਪਿ ਜਲੰਧਰਿ ਈਸਿ ਮਰਿਯੋ ਜਿਮ ਚੰਡਿ ਚਮੁੰਡਹਿ ਸੈਨ ਹਤੀ ॥
jim kop jalandhar ees mariyo jim chandd chamunddeh sain hatee |
The mighty Krishna caused the army of Indra to run away, just as Shiva had destroyed Jalandhar and the Goddess had annihilated the army of chand and Mund
ਪਛੁਤਾਇ ਗਯੋ ਮਘਵਾ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੋ ਨ ਰਹੀ ਤਿਹ ਕੀ ਪਤਿ ਏਕ ਰਤੀ ॥
pachhutaae gayo maghavaa grih ko na rahee tih kee pat ek ratee |
Indra went back to his home repenting and he lost all his self-respect
ਇਕ ਮੇਘ ਬਿਦਾਰ ਦਏ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਜਿਮ ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਵਾਰਤ ਕੋਪਿ ਜਤੀ ॥੩੮੫॥
eik megh bidaar de har jee jim mohi nivaarat kop jatee |385|
Krishna destroyed the clouds like a great celibate, quickly destroying his attachment.385.
ਕੁਪ ਕੈ ਤਿਨਿ ਮੇਘ ਬਿਦਾਰ ਦਏ ਜਿਨਿ ਰਾਖ ਲਯੋ ਜਲ ਭੀਤਰ ਹਾਥੀ ॥
kup kai tin megh bidaar de jin raakh layo jal bheetar haathee |
The Lord who protected the elephant in the water, the same, in fury, destroyed the clouds
ਜਾਹਿ ਸਿਲਾ ਲਗਿ ਪਾਇ ਤਰੀ ਜਿਹ ਰਾਖਿ ਲਈ ਦ੍ਰੁਪਤੀ ਸੁ ਅਨਾਥੀ ॥
jaeh silaa lag paae taree jih raakh lee drupatee su anaathee |
He, who with the touch of his foot, ferried across Durga-like Ahalya, he, who protected Daropati
ਬੈਰ ਕਰੈ ਜੋਊ ਪੈ ਇਹ ਸੋ ਸਭ ਗੋਪ ਕਹੈ ਇਹ ਤਾਹਿ ਅਸਾਥੀ ॥
bair karai joaoo pai ih so sabh gop kahai ih taeh asaathee |
ਜੋ ਹਿਤ ਸੋ ਚਿਤ ਕੈ ਇਹ ਕੀ ਫੁਨਿ ਸੇਵ ਕਰੈ ਤਿਹ ਕੋ ਇਹ ਸਾਥੀ ॥੩੮੬॥
jo hit so chit kai ih kee fun sev karai tih ko ih saathee |386|
Whosoever will be inimical towards that Krishna, the gopas said that he will not be with them and whosoever will serve Him with love and full mind, He will be on his side.386.
ਮੇਘਨ ਕੋ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨੰ ਦਲ ਖਾਤਿਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਨ ਕਛੂ ਆਂਦਾ ॥
meghan ko tab hee krisanan dal khaatir aoopar na kachhoo aandaa |
The clouds could do no harm to the army of Krishna
ਕੋਪ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਮਘਵਾ ਨ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਸੋ ਕਛੁ ਤਾਹਿ ਬਸਾਦਾ ॥
kop kariyo at hee maghavaa na chaliyo tih so kachh taeh basaadaa |
Though Indra was highly infuriated, but whatever was in his control, he could not cast any impact
ਜੋਰ ਚਲੈ ਕਿਹ ਕੋ ਤਿਹ ਸੋ ਕਹਿ ਹੈ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਜਿਸ ਕੋ ਜਗੁ ਬਾਦਾ ॥
jor chalai kih ko tih so keh hai sabh hee jis ko jag baadaa |
Who can then have power (or use force) over Him in whose service there is the whole world
ਮੂੰਡ ਨਿਵਾਇ ਮਨੈ ਦੁਖ ਪਾਇ ਗਯੋ ਮਘਵਾ ਉਠਿ ਧਾਮਿ ਖਿਸਾਦਾ ॥੩੮੭॥
moondd nivaae manai dukh paae gayo maghavaa utth dhaam khisaadaa |387|
Therefore, with bowed head and sorrowful mind, in great embarrassment, Indra went away to his home.387.
ਸਕ੍ਰ ਗਯੋ ਪਛੁਤਾਹਿ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੰ ਕਹੁ ਫੋਰ ਦਈ ਜਬ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹਿ ਅਨੀ ॥
sakr gayo pachhutaeh grihan kahu for dee jab kaanreh anee |
When Krishna smashed the pride of Indra, then he, repenting, went to his home
ਬਰਖਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੋਪ ਕਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਪੈ ਸੁ ਕਛੂ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਹਿ ਏਕ ਗਨੀ ॥

He, in great rage, showered heavy rain on Braja, but Krishna did not consider it of any significance
ਫੁਨਿ ਤਾ ਛਬਿ ਕੀ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਿਧੋ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਭਨੀ ॥
fun taa chhab kee at hee upamaa kab sayaam kidho ih bhaat bhanee |
ਪਛਤਾਇ ਗਯੋ ਪਤਿ ਲੋਕਨ ਕੋ ਜਿਮ ਲੂਟ ਲਯੋ ਅਹਿ ਸੀਸ ਮਨੀ ॥੩੮੮॥
pachhataae gayo pat lokan ko jim loott layo eh sees manee |388|
The poet Shyam has said regarding his going away that he went repenting, like a serpent losing his glory after getting its jewel (Mani) plundered.388.
ਜਾਹਿ ਨ ਜਾਨਤ ਭੇਦ ਮੁਨੀ ਮਨਿ ਭਾ ਇਹ ਜਾਪਨ ਕੋ ਇਹ ਜਾਪੀ ॥
jaeh na jaanat bhed munee man bhaa ih jaapan ko ih jaapee |
ਰਾਜ ਦਯੋ ਇਨ ਹੀ ਬਲਿ ਕੋ ਇਨ ਹੀ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਧਰਾ ਸਭ ਥਾਪੀ ॥
raaj dayo in hee bal ko in hee kab sayaam dharaa sabh thaapee |
He, whose secret is not known to the sages and whose mystery cannot be realised through the repetition of all kinds of mantras, the same Krishna gave kingship to Bali and installed the earth
ਮਾਰਤ ਹੈ ਦਿਨ ਥੋਰਨ ਮੈ ਰਿਪੁ ਗੋਪ ਕਹੈ ਇਹ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ੍ਰਹ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪੀ ॥
maarat hai din thoran mai rip gop kahai ih kaanrahrah prataapee |
ਕਾਰਨ ਯਾਹਿ ਧਰੀ ਇਹ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਮਾਰਨ ਕੋ ਜਗ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਪਾਪੀ ॥੩੮੯॥
kaaran yaeh dharee ih moorat maaran ko jag ke sabh paapee |389|
The gopas said that within a few days, this glorious Krishna will destroy all the enemies, because he has incarnated only to kill the tyrants of the world.389.
ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਜਿਹ ਸੋ ਛਲ ਪੈ ਚਤੁਰਾਨਨ ਚੋਰਿ ਲਏ ਸਭ ਗੋਪ ਦਫਾ ॥
kar kai jih so chhal pai chaturaanan chor le sabh gop dafaa |
ਤਿਨ ਕਉਤਕ ਦੇਖਨ ਕਾਰਨ ਕੋ ਫੁਨਿ ਰਾਖਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਵਹ ਬੀਚ ਖਫਾ ॥
tin kautak dekhan kaaran ko fun raakh rahio veh beech khafaa |
He, from whom Brahma had concealed the gopas through deception and in order to see his amorous play, he was hidden in a cave
ਕਾਨ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੁਪਏ ਉਹ ਸੋ ਸੁ ਕਰੇ ਬਿਨ ਹੀ ਸਰ ਦੀਨ ਜਫਾ ॥
kaan binaa kupe uh so su kare bin hee sar deen jafaa |
ਛਿਨ ਮਧਿ ਬਨਾਇ ਲਏ ਬਛਰੇ ਸਭ ਗੋਪਨ ਕੀ ਉਨ ਹੀ ਸੀ ਸਫਾ ॥੩੯੦॥
chhin madh banaae le bachhare sabh gopan kee un hee see safaa |390|
Krishna, without getting angry with him also, had astonished and puzzled him and had created the replics of those gopas and calves.390.
ਕਾਨ ਉਪਾਰਿ ਧਰਿਓ ਕਰ ਪੈ ਗਿਰਿ ਤਾ ਤਰਿ ਗੋਪ ਨਿਕਾਰਿ ਸਬੈ ॥
kaan upaar dhario kar pai gir taa tar gop nikaar sabai |
When Krishna uprooted and carried the mountain, he called all the gopas under the same
ਬਕਈ ਬਕ ਅਉਰ ਗਡਾਸੁਰ ਤ੍ਰਿਨਾਵ੍ਰਤ ਬੀਰ ਬਧੇ ਛਿਨ ਬੀਚ ਤਬੈ ॥
bakee bak aaur gaddaasur trinaavrat beer badhe chhin beech tabai |
The same Krishna had killed the brave demons like Bakasura, Gajasura, Tranavrata etc.
ਜਿਨ ਕਾਲੀ ਕੋ ਨਾਥ ਲਯੋ ਛਿਨ ਭੀਤਰ ਧਿਆਨ ਨ ਛਾਡਹੁ ਵਾਹਿ ਕਬੈ ॥
jin kaalee ko naath layo chhin bheetar dhiaan na chhaaddahu vaeh kabai |
He, who stringed the serpent Kali, his meditation be never forgotton from the mind
ਸਭ ਸੰਤ ਸੁਨੀ ਸੁਭ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕਥਾ ਇਕ ਅਉਰ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਨਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਅਬੈ ॥੩੯੧॥
sabh sant sunee subh kaanrah kathaa ik aaur kathaa sun lehu abai |391|
All the saints heard the auspicious story of Krishna now listen to another story.391.
