ਚਟਪਟ ਸੈਣੰ ਖਟਪਟ ਭਾਜੇ ॥

chattapatt sainan khattapatt bhaaje |

ਝਟਪਟ ਜੁਝਯੋ ਲਖ ਰਣ ਰਾਜੇ ॥

jhattapatt jujhayo lakh ran raaje |

The forces ran quickly and began to fight, the warriors ran speedily and

ਸਟਪਟ ਭਾਜੇ ਅਟਪਟ ਸੂਰੰ ॥

sattapatt bhaaje attapatt sooran |

ਝਟਪਟ ਬਿਸਰੀ ਘਟ ਪਟ ਹੂਰੰ ॥੬੨੪॥

jhattapatt bisaree ghatt patt hooran |624|

They forgot their thoughts about the heavenly damsels.624.

ਚਟਪਟ ਪੈਠੇ ਖਟਪਟ ਲੰਕੰ ॥

chattapatt paitthe khattapatt lankan |

ਰਣ ਤਜ ਸੂਰੰ ਸਰ ਧਰ ਬੰਕੰ ॥

ran taj sooran sar dhar bankan |

The warriors abandoning the field and the arrows entered Lanka

ਝਲਹਲ ਬਾਰੰ ਨਰਬਰ ਨੈਣੰ ॥

jhalahal baaran narabar nainan |

ਧਕਿ ਧਕਿ ਉਚਰੇ ਭਕਿ ਭਕਿ ਬੈਣੰ ॥੬੨੫॥

dhak dhak uchare bhak bhak bainan |625|

Seeing Ram with their own eyes they raised utterances of lamentation.625.

ਨਰ ਬਰ ਰਾਮੰ ਬਰਨਰ ਮਾਰੋ ॥

nar bar raaman baranar maaro |

ਝਟਪਟ ਬਾਹੰ ਕਟਿ ਕਟਿ ਡਾਰੋ ॥

jhattapatt baahan katt katt ddaaro |

The superb Ram killed all of them and chopped their arms

ਤਬ ਸਭ ਭਾਜੇ ਰਖ ਰਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੰ ॥

tab sabh bhaaje rakh rakh praanan |

ਖਟਪਟ ਮਾਰੇ ਝਟਪਟ ਬਾਣੰ ॥੬੨੬॥

khattapatt maare jhattapatt baanan |626|

Then all (others) saving themselves, fled away and Ram showered arrows on those running fighters.626.

ਚਟਪਟ ਰਾਨੀ ਸਟਪਟ ਧਾਈ ॥

chattapatt raanee sattapatt dhaaee |

ਰਟਪਟ ਰੋਵਤ ਅਟਪਟ ਆਈ ॥

rattapatt rovat attapatt aaee |

All the queen ran weeping instantly and came to fall at the feet of Ram

ਚਟਪਟ ਲਾਗੀ ਅਟਪਟ ਪਾਯੰ ॥

chattapatt laagee attapatt paayan |

ਨਰਬਰ ਨਿਰਖੇ ਰਘੁਬਰ ਰਾਯੰ ॥੬੨੭॥

narabar nirakhe raghubar raayan |627|

Ram saw all the spectacle.627.

ਚਟਪਟ ਲੋਟੈਂ ਅਟਪਟ ਧਰਣੀ ॥

chattapatt lottain attapatt dharanee |

ਕਸਿ ਕਸਿ ਰੋਵੈਂ ਬਰਨਰ ਬਰਣੀ ॥

kas kas rovain baranar baranee |

The queens rolled on the earth and began to weep and lament in various ways

ਪਟਪਟ ਡਾਰੈਂ ਅਟਪਟ ਕੇਸੰ ॥

pattapatt ddaarain attapatt kesan |

ਬਟ ਹਰਿ ਕੂਕੈਂ ਨਟ ਵਰ ਭੇਸੰ ॥੬੨੮॥

batt har kookain natt var bhesan |628|

They pulled their hair and garments and cried and shrieked in various ways.628.

ਚਟਪਟ ਚੀਰੰ ਅਟਪਟ ਪਾਰੈਂ ॥

chattapatt cheeran attapatt paarain |

ਧਰ ਕਰ ਧੂਮੰ ਸਰਬਰ ਡਾਰੈਂ ॥

dhar kar dhooman sarabar ddaarain |

They began to tear their raiments and put the dust on their heads

ਸਟਪਟ ਲੋਟੈਂ ਖਟਪਟ ਭੂਮੰ ॥

sattapatt lottain khattapatt bhooman |

ਝਟਪਟ ਝੂਰੈਂ ਘਰਹਰ ਘੂਮੰ ॥੬੨੯॥

jhattapatt jhoorain gharahar ghooman |629|

They in great sorrow cried, threw themselves down and rolled.629.
