ਸਿਵ ਸਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਮੇਲੁ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਹੋਵਈ ।

siv sakatee daa mel dubidhaa hovee |

The confluence of Siva and the Sakti is the root cause of this creation full of duality.

ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਮਾਇਆ ਖੇਲੁ ਭਰਿ ਭਰਿ ਧੋਵਈ ।

trai gun maaeaa khel bhar bhar dhovee |

The maya with her three gunas (qualities – rajas, tamas and salty) plays her games and sometimes fills the man (with hopes and desires) and at another time empties him totally frustrating his plans.

ਚਾਰਿ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਭੇਲੁ ਹਾਰ ਪਰੋਵਈ ।

chaar padaarath bhel haar parovee |

Maya deludes people through the cyclic garlands of dharma, arth, cam and mokc (four supposed ideals of life) offered by her to man.

ਪੰਜਿ ਤਤ ਪਰਵੇਲ ਅੰਤਿ ਵਿਗੋਵਈ ।

panj tat paravel ant vigovee |

But man, the sum total of five elements, perishes ultimately.

ਛਿਅ ਰੁਤਿ ਬਾਰਹ ਮਾਹ ਹਸਿ ਹਸਿ ਰੋਵਈ ।

chhia rut baarah maah has has rovee |

The jiv (creature), laughs, weeps and wails during all the six seasons and twelve months of his life

ਰਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਨੀਦ ਨ ਸੋਵਈ ।੬।

ridh sidh nav nidh need na sovee |6|

And imbued with the pleasures of the miraculous powers (given him by the Lord) never attains peace and equipoise.
