ਵਿਣੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਹੋਰੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਹੈ ਸਭ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ।

vin gur hor dhiaan hai sabh doojaa bhaau |

The concentration except on Guru is all duality.

ਵਿਣੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਹੈ ਫਿਕਾ ਆਲਾਉ ।

vin gur sabad giaan hai fikaa aalaau |

The knowledge except theknowledge of the Guru-word is a cry in vain.

ਵਿਣੁ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣਾਂ ਪੂਜਣਾ ਸਭੁ ਕੂੜਾ ਸੁਆਉ ।

vin gur charanaan poojanaa sabh koorraa suaau |

Worship except the Guru feet is all false and selfishness.

ਵਿਣੁ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੁ ਜੁ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਊਰਾ ਪਰਥਾਉ ।

vin gur bachan ju mananaa aooraa parathaau |

Except the acceptance of the teaching of the Guru, all other means are incomplete.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਣੁ ਸੰਗੁ ਹੈ ਸਭੁ ਕਚਾ ਚਾਉ ।

saadhasangat vin sang hai sabh kachaa chaau |

Except the meeting in the holy congregation, all other assemblages are fragile.

ਪੀਰ ਮੁਰੀਦਾਂ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਜਿਣਿ ਜਾਣਨਿ ਦਾਉ ।੧੭।

The Sikhs loving their Guru, know well to win the game (of life).
