Remember the Lord, remember the Lord, remember the Lord in meditation, O Siblings of Destiny.

ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਬਿਨੁ ਬੂਡਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

raam naam simaran bin booddate adhikaaee |1| rahaau |

Without remembering the Lord's Name in meditation, a great many are drowned. ||1||Pause||

ਬਨਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਦੇਹ ਗ੍ਰੇਹ ਸੰਪਤਿ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥

banitaa sut deh greh sanpat sukhadaaee |

Your spouse, children, body, house and possessions - you think these will give you peace.

ਇਨੑ ਮੈ ਕਛੁ ਨਾਹਿ ਤੇਰੋ ਕਾਲ ਅਵਧ ਆਈ ॥੧॥

eina mai kachh naeh tero kaal avadh aaee |1|

But none of these shall be yours, when the time of death comes. ||1||

ਅਜਾਮਲ ਗਜ ਗਨਿਕਾ ਪਤਿਤ ਕਰਮ ਕੀਨੇ ॥

ajaamal gaj ganikaa patit karam keene |

Ajaamal, the elephant, and the prostitute committed many sins,

ਤੇਊ ਉਤਰਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਲੀਨੇ ॥੨॥

teaoo utar paar pare raam naam leene |2|

but still, they crossed over the world-ocean, by chanting the Lord's Name. ||2||

ਸੂਕਰ ਕੂਕਰ ਜੋਨਿ ਭ੍ਰਮੇ ਤਊ ਲਾਜ ਨ ਆਈ ॥

sookar kookar jon bhrame taoo laaj na aaee |

You have wandered in reincarnation, as pigs and dogs - did you feel no shame?

ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਛਾਡਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਾਹੇ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਈ ॥੩॥

raam naam chhaadd amrit kaahe bikh khaaee |3|

Forsaking the Ambrosial Name of the Lord, why do you eat poison? ||3||

ਤਜਿ ਭਰਮ ਕਰਮ ਬਿਧਿ ਨਿਖੇਧ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਲੇਹੀ ॥

taj bharam karam bidh nikhedh raam naam lehee |

Abandon your doubts about do's and dont's, and take to the Lord's Name.

ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਜਨ ਕਬੀਰ ਰਾਮੁ ਕਰਿ ਸਨੇਹੀ ॥੪॥੫॥

gur prasaad jan kabeer raam kar sanehee |4|5|
