ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ਨ ਆਪੁ ਗਣਾਇਆ ।

guramukh aap gavaae na aap ganaaeaa |

The Gurmukhs erase their ego and never allow themselves to be noticed.

ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਮਿਟਾਇ ਇਕੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ।

doojaa bhaau mittaae ik dhiaaeaa |

Effacing duality, they venerate only one Lord.

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਜਾਣਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਮਾਇਆ ।

gur paramesar jaan sabad kamaaeaa |

Accepting Guru as God they by cultivating the words of the Guru, translate them into life.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਚਲਿ ਜਾਇ ਸੀਸੁ ਨਿਵਾਇਆ ।

saadhasangat chal jaae sees nivaaeaa |

The Gurmukhs serve and attain the fruits of happiness.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਇ ਸੁਖ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ।

guramukh kaar kamaae sukh fal paaeaa |

This way receiving the cup of love,

ਪਿਰਮ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਪਾਇ ਅਜਰੁ ਜਰਾਇਆ ।੪।

piram piaalaa paae ajar jaraaeaa |4|

They bear the effect of this unbearable in their mind.
