Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਮੈ ਭਾਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥

sarab sukhaa mai bhaaliaa har jevadd na koee |

I have pursued all pleasures, but none is as great as the Lord.

ਗੁਰ ਤੁਠੇ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥

gur tutthe te paaeeai sach saahib soee |1|

By the Pleasure of the Guru's Will, the True Lord Master is obtained. ||1||

ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਦ ਸਦ ਕੁਰਬਾਨਾ ॥

balihaaree gur aapane sad sad kurabaanaa |

I am a sacrifice to my Guru; I am forever and ever a sacrifice to Him.

ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਵਿਸਰਉ ਇਕੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਚਸਾ ਇਹੁ ਕੀਜੈ ਦਾਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

naam na visrau ik khin chasaa ihu keejai daanaa |1| rahaau |

Please, grant me this one blessing, that I may never, even for an instant, forget Your Name. ||1||Pause||

ਭਾਗਠੁ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਇ ਹੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ॥

bhaagatth sachaa soe hai jis har dhan antar |

How very fortunate are those who have the wealth of the Lord deep within the heart.

ਸੋ ਛੂਟੈ ਮਹਾ ਜਾਲ ਤੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰਸਬਦੁ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ॥੨॥

so chhoottai mahaa jaal te jis gurasabad nirantar |2|

They escape from the great noose of death; they are permeated with the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||2||

ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਕਿਆ ਕਹਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਬਿਬੇਕ ਸਤ ਸਰੁ ॥

gur kee mahimaa kiaa kahaa gur bibek sat sar |

How can I chant the Glorious Praises of the Guru? The Guru is the ocean of Truth and clear understanding.

ਓਹੁ ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦੀ ਜੁਗਹ ਜੁਗੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ॥੩॥

ohu aad jugaadee jugah jug pooraa paramesar |3|

He is the Perfect Transcendent Lord, from the very beginning, and throughout the ages. ||3||

ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਸਦ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਨੁ ਰੰਗੇ ॥

naam dhiaavahu sad sadaa har har man range |

Meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, forever and ever, my mind is filled with the Love of the Lord, Har, Har.

ਜੀਉ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਧਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੈ ਸੰਗੇ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੦੪॥

jeeo praan dhan guroo hai naanak kai sange |4|2|104|

The Guru is my soul, my breath of life, and wealth; O Nanak, He is with me forever. ||4||2||104||
