ਗੁਰੁ ਅੰਗਦ ਗੁਰੁ ਅੰਗ ਤੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਿਰਖੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਫਲ ਫਲਿਆ ।

gur angad gur ang te amrit birakh amrit fal faliaa |

From the limb of Guru (Nanak) the tree of nector fruits in the name of Guru Angad has flourished.

ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਜਗਾਈਅਨੁ ਦੀਵੇ ਤੇ ਜਿਉ ਦੀਵਾ ਬਲਿਆ ।

jotee jot jagaaeean deeve te jiau deevaa baliaa |

As a lamp lits another lamp, with the light (of Guru Nanak), the flame (of Guru Angad) has been lit.

ਹੀਰੈ ਹੀਰਾ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਛਲੁ ਕਰਿ ਅਛਲੀ ਅਛਲੁ ਛਲਿਆ ।

heerai heeraa bedhiaa chhal kar achhalee achhal chhaliaa |

The diamond has cut (to shape) the diamond as if through magic, the undeceivable (Baba Nanak) has brought under control the simple_minded one (Guru Angad)

ਕੋਇ ਬੁਝਿ ਨ ਹੰਘਈ ਪਾਣੀ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਣੀ ਰਲਿਆ ।

koe bujh na hanghee paanee andar paanee raliaa |

Now they connot be distinguished as if water has mingled with water.

ਸਚਾ ਸਚੁ ਸੁਹਾਵੜਾ ਸਚੁ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਚੁ ਸਚਹੁ ਢਲਿਆ ।

sachaa sach suhaavarraa sach andar sach sachahu dtaliaa |

The Truth is always beautiful and in the die of truth he (Guru Angad) has moulded himself.

ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਸਚਾ ਤਖਤੁ ਹੈ ਅਬਿਚਲ ਰਾਜ ਨ ਹਲੈ ਹਲਿਆ ।

nihachal sachaa takhat hai abichal raaj na halai haliaa |

His throne is immovable and kingdom everlasting ; they connot be moved in spite of efforts.

ਸਚ ਸਬਦੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਸਉਪਿਆ ਸਚ ਟਕਸਾਲਹੁ ਸਿਕਾ ਚਲਿਆ ।

sach sabad gur saupiaa sach ttakasaalahu sikaa chaliaa |

The ture word has been handed over ( to Guru Angad) by the Guru (Nanak) as if the coin has been issued from the mint

ਸਿਧ ਨਾਥ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਭ ਹਥ ਜੋੜਿ ਕੈ ਹੋਏ ਖਲਿਆ ।

sidh naath avataar sabh hath jorr kai hoe khaliaa |

Now siddhs naths and incarnations (of gods) etc have stood before him with folded hands

ਸਚਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਸੁ ਅਟਲੁ ਨ ਟਲਿਆ ।੮।

sachaa hukam su attal na ttaliaa |8|

And this command is true,immutable and inevitable.
