ਰਕਤਬੀਜ ਤਪ ਭੂਪਿ ਬੁਲਾਯੋ ॥
rakatabeej tap bhoop bulaayo |
ਅਮਿਤ ਦਰਬੁ ਦੇ ਤਹਾ ਪਠਾਯੋ ॥
amit darab de tahaa patthaayo |
Then the king called Rakat Beej and sent him after giving him enormous wealth.
ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਦਈ ਬਿਰੂਥਨ ਸੰਗਾ ॥
bahu bidh dee biroothan sangaa |
ਹੈ ਗੈ ਰਥ ਪੈਦਲ ਚਤੁਰੰਗਾ ॥੨॥੭੯॥
hai gai rath paidal chaturangaa |2|79|
He was also given various types of forces, which was fourfold: on horses, on elephants, on chariots and on foot.2.79.
ਰਕਤਬੀਜ ਦੈ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਨਗਾਰਾ ॥
rakatabeej dai chaliyo nagaaraa |
ਦੇਵ ਲੋਗ ਲਉ ਸੁਨੀ ਪੁਕਾਰਾ ॥
dev log lau sunee pukaaraa |
Rakat Beej marched after sounding his trumpet, which was heard even in the habitation of gods.
ਕੰਪੀ ਭੂਮਿ ਗਗਨ ਥਹਰਾਨਾ ॥
kanpee bhoom gagan thaharaanaa |
ਦੇਵਨ ਜੁਤਿ ਦਿਵਰਾਜ ਡਰਾਨਾ ॥੩॥੮੦॥
devan jut divaraaj ddaraanaa |3|80|
The earth ttrembled and the sky vibrated, all the godds including the king were filled with fear.3.80.
ਧਵਲਾ ਗਿਰਿ ਕੇ ਜਬ ਤਟ ਆਇ ॥
dhavalaa gir ke jab tatt aae |
ਦੁੰਦਭਿ ਢੋਲ ਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗ ਬਜਾਏ ॥
dundabh dtol mridang bajaae |
When they came near the Kailash mountain, they sounded trumpets, drums and tabours.
ਜਬ ਹੀ ਸੁਨਾ ਕੁਲਾਹਲ ਕਾਨਾ ॥
jab hee sunaa kulaahal kaanaa |
ਉਤਰੀ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਲੈ ਨਾਨਾ ॥੪॥੮੧॥
autaree sasatr asatr lai naanaa |4|81|
When the gods heard the noises with their ears, the goddess Durga descended the mountain, taking many weapons and arms.4.81.
ਛਹਬਰ ਲਾਇ ਬਰਖੀਯੰ ਬਾਣੰ ॥
chhahabar laae barakheeyan baanan |
ਬਾਜ ਰਾਜ ਅਰੁ ਗਿਰੇ ਕਿਕਾਣੰ ॥
baaj raaj ar gire kikaanan |
The goddess showered arrows like incessant rain, which caused the horses and their riders fall down.
ਢਹਿ ਢਹਿ ਪਰੇ ਸੁਭਟ ਸਿਰਦਾਰਾ ॥
dteh dteh pare subhatt siradaaraa |
ਜਨੁ ਕਰ ਕਟੈ ਬਿਰਛ ਸੰਗ ਆਰਾ ॥੫॥੮੨॥
jan kar kattai birachh sang aaraa |5|82|
Many warriors and their chieftainsfell, it seemed as if the trees had been sawed.5.82.
ਜੇ ਜੇ ਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਾਮੁਹੇ ਭਏ ॥
je je satr saamuhe bhe |
ਬਹੁਰ ਜੀਅਤ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੇ ਨਹੀ ਗਏ ॥
bahur jeeat grih ke nahee ge |
Those enemies ho came in front of her, they could not again return to their homes alive.
ਜਿਹ ਪਰ ਪਰਤ ਭਈ ਤਰਵਾਰਾ ॥
jih par parat bhee taravaaraa |
ਇਕਿ ਇਕਿ ਤੇ ਭਏ ਦੋ ਦੋ ਚਾਰਾ ॥੬॥੮੩॥
eik ik te bhe do do chaaraa |6|83|
Those who were struck by the sword, they fell down in two halves or four quarters.6.83.
