ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

SWAYYA

ਬੋਲਿ ਉਠਿਯੋ ਰਿਸਿ ਕੈ ਸਿਵ ਜੂ ਅਰੇ ਕਿਉ ਸੁਨ ਤੂ ਗਰਬਾਤੁ ਹੈ ਏਤੋ ॥

bol utthiyo ris kai siv joo are kiau sun too garabaat hai eto |

Shiva spoke in anger, “O king! why are you so proud? Do not indulge in strife with us

ਏਤਨ ਸਿਉ ਜਿਨਿ ਰਾਰਿ ਮੰਡੋ ਅਬਿ ਹੀ ਲਖਿ ਹੈ ਹਮ ਮੈ ਬਲੁ ਜੇਤੋ ॥

etan siau jin raar manddo ab hee lakh hai ham mai bal jeto |

ਜੌ ਤੁਮ ਮੈ ਅਤਿ ਪਉਰਖ ਹੈ ਅਬ ਢੀਲ ਕਹਾ ਧਨੁ ਬਾਨਹਿ ਲੇਤੋ ॥

jau tum mai at paurakh hai ab dteel kahaa dhan baaneh leto |

ਜੇਤੋ ਹੈ ਦੀਰਘ ਗਾਤ ਤਿਹਾਰੋ ਸੁ ਬਾਨਨ ਸੋ ਕਰਿ ਹੋ ਲਹੁ ਤੇਤੋ ॥੧੫੦੫॥

jeto hai deeragh gaat tihaaro su baanan so kar ho lahu teto |1505|

“If you have greater courage, then why are you delaying, why do you not take your bow and arrows in your hands? You have a very large body and by piercing it with my arrows, I shall lighten it.”1505.
