ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

SWAYYA

ਕਾਹਿ ਖਿਝਾਵਤ ਹੋ ਹਮ ਕੋ ਅਰੁ ਦੇਤ ਕਹਾ ਜਦੁਰਾਇ ਦੁਹਾਈ ॥

kaeh khijhaavat ho ham ko ar det kahaa jaduraae duhaaee |

ਜਾ ਬਿਧਿ ਕਾਰਨ ਬਾਤ ਬਨਾਵਤ ਸੋ ਬਿਧਿ ਹਮ ਹੂੰ ਲਖਿ ਪਾਈ ॥

jaa bidh kaaran baat banaavat so bidh ham hoon lakh paaee |

The gopis said, “O Krishna! why are you annoying us and swearing on us? The purpose for which you are doing all this, we have also understood it

ਭੇਦ ਕਰੋ ਹਮ ਸੋ ਤੁਮ ਨਾਹਕ ਬਾਤ ਇਹੈ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਤੁਹਿ ਆਈ ॥

bhed karo ham so tum naahak baat ihai man mai tuhi aaee |

ਸਉਹ ਲਗੈ ਹਮ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕੀ ਜੁ ਰਹੈ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਮਾਤ ਸੁਨਾਈ ॥੨੫੯॥

sauh lagai ham tthaakur kee ju rahai tumaree bin maat sunaaee |259|

“When you have the same idea in your mind (that you want to possess all of us), then why are you quarrelling with us uselessly? We swear by the Lord that we shall not say anything about it to you mother.”259.
