ਮਾਰੂ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

maaroo mahalaa 5 |

Maaroo, Fifth Mehl:

ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਆਘਾਏ ਸੰਤਾ ॥

tripat aaghaae santaa |

The Saints are fulfilled and satisfied;

ਗੁਰ ਜਾਨੇ ਜਿਨ ਮੰਤਾ ॥

gur jaane jin mantaa |

they know the Guru's Mantra and the Teachings.

ਤਾ ਕੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥

taa kee kichh kehan na jaaee |

They cannot even be described;

ਜਾ ਕਉ ਨਾਮ ਬਡਾਈ ॥੧॥

jaa kau naam baddaaee |1|

they are blessed with the glorious greatness of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||

ਲਾਲੁ ਅਮੋਲਾ ਲਾਲੋ ॥

laal amolaa laalo |

My Beloved is a priceless jewel.

ਅਗਹ ਅਤੋਲਾ ਨਾਮੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

agah atolaa naamo |1| rahaau |

His Name is unattainable and immeasurable. ||1||Pause||

ਅਵਿਗਤ ਸਿਉ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਮਾਨੋ ॥

avigat siau maaniaa maano |

One whose mind is satisfied believing in the imperishable Lord God,

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤਤੁ ਗਿਆਨੋ ॥

guramukh tat giaano |

becomes Gurmukh and attains the essence of spiritual wisdom.

ਪੇਖਤ ਸਗਲ ਧਿਆਨੋ ॥

pekhat sagal dhiaano |

He sees all in his meditation.

ਤਜਿਓ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੋ ॥੨॥

tajio man te abhimaano |2|

He banishes egotistical pride from his mind. ||2||

ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਠਾਣਾ ॥

nihachal tin kaa tthaanaa |

Permanent is the place of those

ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਮਹਲੁ ਪਛਾਣਾ ॥

gur te mehal pachhaanaa |

who, through the Guru, realize the Mansion of the Lord's Presence.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਜਾਗੇ ॥

anadin gur mil jaage |

Meeting the Guru, they remain awake and aware night and day;

ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਗੇ ॥੩॥

har kee sevaa laage |3|

they are committed to the Lord's service. ||3||

ਪੂਰਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਏ ॥

pooran tripat aghaae |

They are perfectly fulfilled and satisfied,

ਸਹਜ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ ॥

sehaj samaadh subhaae |

intuitively absorbed in Samaadhi.

ਹਰਿ ਭੰਡਾਰੁ ਹਾਥਿ ਆਇਆ ॥

har bhanddaar haath aaeaa |

The Lord's treasure comes into their hands;

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੭॥੨੩॥

naanak gur te paaeaa |4|7|23|

O Nanak, through the Guru, they attain it. ||4||7||23||
