ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥

bilaaval mahalaa 3 |

Bilaaval, Third Mehl:

ਅਤੁਲੁ ਕਿਉ ਤੋਲਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥

atul kiau toliaa jaae |

How can the unweighable be weighed?

ਦੂਜਾ ਹੋਇ ਤ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਇ ॥

doojaa hoe ta sojhee paae |

If there is anyone else as great, then he alone could understand the Lord.

ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥

tis te doojaa naahee koe |

There is no other than Him.

ਤਿਸ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਿਕੂ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥

tis dee keemat kikoo hoe |1|

How can His value be estimated? ||1||

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥

gur parasaad vasai man aae |

By Guru's Grace, He comes to dwell in the mind.

ਤਾ ਕੋ ਜਾਣੈ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

taa ko jaanai dubidhaa jaae |1| rahaau |

One comes to know Him, when duality departs. ||1||Pause||

ਆਪਿ ਸਰਾਫੁ ਕਸਵਟੀ ਲਾਏ ॥

aap saraaf kasavattee laae |

He Himself is the Assayer, applying the touch-stone to test it.

ਆਪੇ ਪਰਖੇ ਆਪਿ ਚਲਾਏ ॥

aape parakhe aap chalaae |

He Himself analyzes the coin, and He Himself approves it as currency.

ਆਪੇ ਤੋਲੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋਇ ॥

aape tole pooraa hoe |

He Himself weights it perfectly.

ਆਪੇ ਜਾਣੈ ਏਕੋ ਸੋਇ ॥੨॥

aape jaanai eko soe |2|

He alone knows; He is the One and Only Lord. ||2||

ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾ ਰੂਪੁ ਸਭੁ ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਹੋਇ ॥

maaeaa kaa roop sabh tis te hoe |

All the forms of Maya emanate from Him.

ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਮੇਲੇ ਸੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥

jis no mele su niramal hoe |

He alone becomes pure and immaculate, who is united with the Lord.

ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਲਾਏ ਲਗੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਇ ॥

jis no laae lagai tis aae |

He alone is attached, whom the Lord attaches.

ਸਭੁ ਸਚੁ ਦਿਖਾਲੇ ਤਾ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੩॥

sabh sach dikhaale taa sach samaae |3|

All Truth is revealed to him, and then, he merges in the True Lord. ||3||

ਆਪੇ ਲਿਵ ਧਾਤੁ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ॥

aape liv dhaat hai aape |

He Himself leads the mortals to focus on Him, and He Himself causes them to chase after Maya.

ਆਪਿ ਬੁਝਾਏ ਆਪੇ ਜਾਪੇ ॥

aap bujhaae aape jaape |

He Himself imparts understanding, and He reveals Himself.

ਆਪੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ॥

aape satigur sabad hai aape |

He Himself is the True Guru, and He Himself is the Word of the Shabad.

ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਿ ਸੁਣਾਏ ਆਪੇ ॥੪॥੨॥

naanak aakh sunaae aape |4|2|

O Nanak, He Himself speaks and teaches. ||4||2||
