TOTAK STANZA

ਸਿਵ ਯੌ ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਧਨੁ ਬਾਨ ਲੀਓ ॥

siv yau sun kai dhan baan leeo |

ਕਸਿ ਕਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਨ ਲਉ ਛਾਡਿ ਦੀਓ ॥

kas kaan pramaan lau chhaadd deeo |

Hearing these words, Shiva held up his bow and arrows and pulling his bow upto his ear, he discharged the arrow, which struck the face of the king

ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੇ ਮੁਖ ਲਾਗ ਬਿਰਾਜ ਰਹਿਓ ॥

nrip ke mukh laag biraaj rahio |

ਖਗਰਾਜ ਮਨੋ ਅਹਿ ਰਾਜ ਗਹਿਓ ॥੧੫੦੭॥

khagaraaj mano eh raaj gahio |1507|

It appeared that Garuda had caught the king of the snakes.1507.

ਬਰਛੀ ਤਬ ਭੂਪ ਚਲਾਇ ਦਈ ॥

barachhee tab bhoop chalaae dee |

ਸਿਵ ਕੇ ਉਰ ਮੈ ਲਗ ਕ੍ਰਾਤਿ ਭਈ ॥

siv ke ur mai lag kraat bhee |

Then the king struck his lance, which hit the chest of Shiva

ਉਪਮਾ ਕਬਿ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਕਹੀ ॥

aupamaa kab ne ih bhaat kahee |

ਰਵਿ ਕੀ ਕਰ ਕੰਜ ਪੈ ਮੰਡਿ ਰਹੀ ॥੧੫੦੮॥

rav kee kar kanj pai mandd rahee |1508|

It appeared that the ray of the sun was hovering over the lotus.1508.

ਤਬ ਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਦ੍ਵੈ ਕਰਿ ਖੈਂਚਿ ਨਿਕਾਰੀ ॥

tab hee har dvai kar khainch nikaaree |

ਗਹਿ ਡਾਰ ਦਈ ਮਨੋ ਨਾਗਨਿ ਕਾਰੀ ॥

geh ddaar dee mano naagan kaaree |

Then Shiva pulled it out with both his hands and threw that lance like a black she-serpent on the earth

ਬਹੁਰੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਮ︀ਯਾਨ ਤੇ ਖਗੁ ਨਿਕਾਰਿਓ ॥

bahuro nrip mayaan te khag nikaario |

ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਬਲੁ ਕੋ ਸਿਵ ਊਪਰ ਡਾਰਿਓ ॥੧੫੦੯॥

kar kai bal ko siv aoopar ddaario |1509|

Then the king drew out his sword from the scabbard and with great force struck its blow on Shiva.1509.

ਹਰ ਮੋਹਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਗਿਰ ਭੂਮਿ ਪਰਿਓ ॥

har mohi rahio gir bhoom pario |

ਮਨੋ ਬਜ੍ਰ ਪਰਿਓ ਗਿਰਿ ਸ੍ਰਿੰਗ ਝਰਿਓ ॥

mano bajr pario gir sring jhario |

Shiva became unconscious and fell on the ground like the peak of the mountain falling down with the blow of vajra

ਇਹ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਦਸਾ ਸਬ ਸੈਨ ਨਿਹਾਰੀ ॥

eih rudr dasaa sab sain nihaaree |

ਬਰਛੀ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਸਿਵ ਪੂਤ ਸੰਭਾਰੀ ॥੧੫੧੦॥

barachhee tab hee siv poot sanbhaaree |1510|

When the army saw this condition of Shiva, then Ganesh, the son of Shiva, took the lance in his hand.1510.

ਜਬ ਕਰ ਬੀਚ ਸਕਤਿ ਕੋ ਲਇਓ ॥

jab kar beech sakat ko leo |

ਤਬ ਆਇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਕੇ ਸਾਮੁਹਿ ਭਇਓ ॥

tab aae nripat ke saamuhi bheo |

ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬਲ ਕੈ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਓਰ ਚਲਾਈ ॥

kar ke bal kai nrip or chalaaee |

ਬਰਛੀ ਨਹੀ ਮਾਨੋ ਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪਠਾਈ ॥੧੫੧੧॥

barachhee nahee maano mrit patthaaee |1511|

Taking the Shakti (lance) in his hand he came in front of the king and with the full force of his hand, he threw it towards the king in such a way that it was not a lance, but death itself.1511.
