ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕੇ ਜਾ ਪਿਖਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਅਤਿ ਲਾਜਹਿ ਕੇ ਫੁਨਿ ਜਾਲ ਅਟੇ ਹੈ ॥
sayaam ke jaa pikh sayaam kahai at laajeh ke fun jaal atte hai |
Going near Krishna and calling him by name, she is crying in extreme shyness
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਅਤਿ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਪੈ ਸੁਤ ਭਾਵਨ ਭਾਵ ਸੁ ਵਾਰਿ ਸੁਟੇ ਹੈ ॥
jaa kee prabhaa at sundar pai sut bhaavan bhaav su vaar sutte hai |
On her winsome glory, many emotions are being sacrificed
ਜਿਹ ਕੋ ਪਿਖਿ ਕੈ ਜਨ ਰੀਝ ਰਹੈ ਸੁ ਮੁਨੀਨ ਕੇ ਪੇਖਿ ਧਿਆਨ ਛੁਟੇ ਹੈ ॥
jih ko pikh kai jan reejh rahai su muneen ke pekh dhiaan chhutte hai |
Seeing which, all the people are getting pleased and the meditation of the sages has been reptured
ਰਾਜਤ ਰਾਧੇ ਅਹੀਰਿ ਤਨਉਰ ਕੇ ਮਾਨਹੁ ਸੂਰਜ ਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਹੈ ॥੬੦੪॥
raajat raadhe aheer tnaur ke maanahu sooraj se pragatte hai |604|
That Radhika, on her manifestation like the sun, is looking splendid.604.
ਖੇਲਤ ਹੈ ਸੋਊ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਮੈ ਜਿਹ ਕੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਹੈ ਅਤਿ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਡੇਰਾ ॥
khelat hai soaoo gvaarin mai jih ko brij hai at sundar dderaa |
That Krishna is playing with the gopis, whose beautiful house is in Braja
ਜਾਹੀ ਕੇ ਨੈਨ ਕੁਰੰਗ ਸੇ ਹੈ ਜਸੁਧਾ ਜੂ ਕੋ ਬਾਲਕ ਨੰਦਹਿ ਕੇਰਾ ॥
jaahee ke nain kurang se hai jasudhaa joo ko baalak nandeh keraa |
His eyes are like that of a deer and he is the son of Nand and Yashoda
ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਸੋ ਤਹਿ ਘੇਰ ਲਯੋ ਕਹਿਬੇ ਜਸੁ ਕੋ ਉਮਗਿਯੋ ਮਨ ਮੇਰਾ ॥
gvaarin so teh gher layo kahibe jas ko umagiyo man meraa |
Gopis have besieged him and my mind is eager to praise him
ਮਾਨਹੁ ਮੈਨ ਸੋ ਖੇਲਨ ਕਾਜ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਮਿਲ ਕੈ ਮਨੋ ਚਾਦਨ ਘੇਰਾ ॥੬੦੫॥
maanahu main so khelan kaaj kariyo mil kai mano chaadan gheraa |605|
He seems to have been surrounded by many moons to play with him as the god of love.605.
ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਰੀਝ ਰਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਪੇਖਿ ਸਭੈ ਤਜਿ ਲਾਜਿ ਸੁ ਅਉ ਡਰ ਸਾਸੋ ॥
gvaarin reejh rahee har pekh sabhai taj laaj su aau ddar saaso |
Forsaking the fear of their mother-in-law and also abandoning their shyness, all the gopis have been allured by Krishna on seeing him
ਆਈ ਹੈ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਸੋਊ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਪੈ ਭਰਤਾਰ ਕਹੈ ਨ ਕਛੂ ਕਹਿ ਮਾ ਸੋ ॥
aaee hai tiaag soaoo grih pai bharataar kahai na kachhoo keh maa so |
Without saying anything at their homes and leaving their husbands also
ਡੋਲਤ ਹੈ ਸੋਊ ਤਾਲ ਬਜਾਇ ਕੈ ਗਾਵਤ ਹੈ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਉਪਹਾਸੋ ॥
ddolat hai soaoo taal bajaae kai gaavat hai kar kai upahaaso |
They have come here and are roaming hither and thither smilingly, while singing and playing on various tunes
ਮੋਹਿ ਗਿਰੈ ਧਰ ਪੈ ਸੁ ਤ੍ਰੀਯਾ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਚਿਤਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਜਾ ਸੋ ॥੬੦੬॥
mohi girai dhar pai su treeyaa kab sayaam kahai chitavai har jaa so |606|
She, whom Krishna sees, she, being charmed, falls on the earth.606.
ਜੋ ਜੁਗ ਤੀਸਰ ਹੈ ਕਰਤਾ ਜੋਊ ਹੈ ਤਨ ਪੈ ਧਰਿਯਾ ਪਟ ਪੀਲੇ ॥
jo jug teesar hai karataa joaoo hai tan pai dhariyaa patt peele |
He, who is the Lord of Treta age and is wearing yellow raiments
ਜਾਹਿ ਛਲਿਯੋ ਬਲਿਰਾਜ ਬਲੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਤ੍ਰ ਹਨੇ ਕਰਿ ਕੋਪ ਹਠੀਲੇ ॥
jaeh chhaliyo baliraaj balee jin satr hane kar kop hattheele |
He, who deceived the mighty king Bali and in great ire, had destroyed the persistent enemies
ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਰੀਝ ਰਹੀ ਧਰਨੀ ਜੁ ਧਰੇ ਪਟ ਪੀਤਨ ਪੈ ਸੁ ਰੰਗੀਲੇ ॥
gvaarin reejh rahee dharanee ju dhare patt peetan pai su rangeele |
On the same Lord, these gopis are being fascinated, who has put on the yellow-coloured garments
ਜਿਉ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਨੀ ਸਰ ਲਾਗਿ ਗਿਰੈ ਇਹ ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਖਤ ਨੈਨ ਰਸੀਲੇ ॥੬੦੭॥
jiau mriganee sar laag girai ih tiau har dekhat nain raseele |607|
Just as the does fall down on being shot by the arrows, the same impact is being made (on the gopis) by the voluptuous eyes of Krishna.607.
ਕਾਨਰ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਖੇਲਤ ਸੋ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਕੋ ਕਰ ਕੈ ਤਨ ਮੈ ॥
kaanar ke sang khelat so at hee sukh ko kar kai tan mai |
ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਹੀ ਸੋ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਹਿਤ ਕੈ ਚਿਤ ਕੈ ਨਹਿ ਬੰਧਨ ਅਉ ਧਨ ਮੈ ॥
sayaam hee so at hee hit kai chit kai neh bandhan aau dhan mai |
The gopis are playing with Krishna in extreme joy and consider themselves totally free to love Krishna
ਧਰਿ ਰੰਗਨਿ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਭੈ ਤਹਿ ਡੋਲਤ ਯੌ ਉਪਮਾ ਉਪਜੀ ਮਨ ਮੈ ॥
dhar rangan basatr sabhai teh ddolat yau upamaa upajee man mai |
ਜੋਊ ਫੂਲ ਮੁਖੀ ਤਹ ਫੂਲ ਕੈ ਖੇਲਤ ਫੂਲ ਸੀ ਹੋਇ ਗਈ ਬਨ ਮੈ ॥੬੦੮॥
joaoo fool mukhee teh fool kai khelat fool see hoe gee ban mai |608|
They are roaming carefree in coloured clothes and this state of theirs creates this simile in the mind that they appear like the bee sucking sap of flowers and playing with them in the forest becomes one with them.608.
ਸਭ ਖੇਲਤ ਹੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਨੰਦ ਕੈ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਕੋ ਧਾਰਿ ਸਬੈ ਮਨ ਮੈ ॥
sabh khelat hai man aanand kai bhagavaan ko dhaar sabai man mai |
They are all playing with joy, meditating in their mind on Lord Krishna
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਿਤਬੇ ਕੀ ਰਹੀ ਸੁਧਿ ਏਕਨ ਅਉਰ ਰਹੀ ਨ ਕਛੂ ਤਨ ਮੈ ॥
har ke chitabe kee rahee sudh ekan aaur rahee na kachhoo tan mai |
They have no consciousness about anyone else except the sight of Krishna
ਨਹੀ ਭੂਤਲ ਮੈ ਅਰੁ ਮਾਤਲੁ ਮੈ ਇਨਿ ਸੋ ਨਹਿ ਦੇਵਨ ਕੇ ਗਨ ਮੈ ॥
nahee bhootal mai ar maatal mai in so neh devan ke gan mai |
ਸੋਊ ਰੀਝ ਸੋ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਫੁਨਿ ਡੋਲਤ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਕੇ ਗਨ ਮੈ ॥੬੦੯॥
soaoo reejh so sayaam kahai at hee fun ddolat gvaarin ke gan mai |609|
Their mind is neither in the nether-world, nor in this world of death nor in the abode of gods, but being charmed by their sovereign Krishna, they are losing their balance.609.
ਹਸਿ ਕੈ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਕਹੀ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨੁ ਸੁਤਾ ਪਿਖਿ ਰੂਪ ਨਵੀਨੋ ॥
has kai bhagavaan kahee bateeyaa brikhabhaan sutaa pikh roop naveeno |
Seeing the new winsome beauty of Radha, Lord Krishna talked to her
ਅੰਜਨ ਆਡ ਧਰੇ ਪੁਨਿ ਬੇਸਰ ਭਾਵ ਸਭੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਭਾਵਨ ਕੀਨੋ ॥
anjan aadd dhare pun besar bhaav sabhai jin bhaavan keeno |
She had worn on her limbs the ornaments expressing various emotions
ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸੇਾਂਧਰ ਕੋ ਜਿਨ ਲੈ ਕਰਿ ਭਾਲ ਬਿਖੈ ਬਿੰਦੂਆ ਇਕ ਦੀਨੋ ॥
sundar seaandhar ko jin lai kar bhaal bikhai bindooaa ik deeno |
She had applied the mark of vermilion on the forehead and was extremely delighted in her mind on causing her eyes to dance
ਨੈਨ ਨਚਾਇ ਮਨੈ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇ ਚਿਤੈ ਜਦੁਰਾਇ ਤਬੈ ਹਸਿ ਦੀਨੋ ॥੬੧੦॥
nain nachaae manai sukh paae chitai jaduraae tabai has deeno |610|
Seeing her, Krishna, the king of Yadavas smiled.610.
ਬੀਨ ਸੀ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਗਾਵਤ ਹੈ ਸੁਨਬੇ ਕਹੁ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਕਾਨਰ ਕਾਰੇ ॥
been see gvaarin gaavat hai sunabe kahu sundar kaanar kaare |
The gopis are singing with the sweet tune of lyre and Krishna is listening
ਆਨਨ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ ਕੋ ਸਸਿ ਸੋ ਸੁ ਬਿਰਾਜਤ ਕੰਜਨ ਸੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਗ ਭਾਰੇ ॥
aanan hai jin ko sas so su biraajat kanjan se drig bhaare |
Their faces are like the moon and the eyes are like large lotus flowers
ਝਾਝਨ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਉਠੀ ਧਰ ਪੈ ਧੁਨਿ ਤਾ ਛਬਿ ਕੋ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਉਚਾਰੇ ॥
jhaajhan taa kee utthee dhar pai dhun taa chhab ko kab sayaam uchaare |
ਢੋਲਕ ਸੰਗਿ ਤੰਬੂਰਨ ਹੋਇ ਉਠੇ ਤਹ ਬਾਜਿ ਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗ ਨਗਾਰੇ ॥੬੧੧॥
dtolak sang tanbooran hoe utthe teh baaj mridang nagaare |611|
The jingling sound of their anklets has arisen in such a way that the sounds of small drum, tanpura (stringed musical instrument), drum, trumpet ets. are being heard in the same.611.
ਖੇਲਤ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਛਕੀ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਸੰਗ ਕਾਨਰ ਕਾਰੇ ॥
khelat gvaarin prem chhakee kab sayaam kahai sang kaanar kaare |
The gopis, being intoxicated in love, are playing with black Krishna
ਛਾਜਤ ਜਾ ਮੁਖ ਚੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਸਮ ਰਾਜਤ ਕੰਚਨ ਸੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਗ ਭਾਰੇ ॥
chhaajat jaa mukh chand prabhaa sam raajat kanchan se drig bhaare |
The glory of their face is like that of the moon and their eyes are like large lotus-flowers
ਜਾ ਪਿਖਿ ਕੰਦ੍ਰਪ ਰੀਝ ਰਹੈ ਪਿਖਿਏ ਜਿਹ ਕੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਆਦਿਕ ਹਾਰੇ ॥
jaa pikh kandrap reejh rahai pikhie jih ke mrig aadik haare |
Seeing which, the god of love is also getting allured and the deer ets. have surrendered their hearts
ਕੇਹਰਿ ਕੋਕਿਲ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਭਾਵ ਕਿਧੌ ਇਨ ਪੈ ਗਨ ਊਪਰ ਵਾਰੇ ॥੬੧੨॥
kehar kokil ke sabh bhaav kidhau in pai gan aoopar vaare |612|
Krishna is sacrificing on them all the emotions present in lion and nightingale.612.
ਜਾਹਿ ਬਿਭੀਛਨਿ ਰਾਜ ਦੀਯੋ ਜਿਨ ਹੂੰ ਬਰ ਰਾਵਨ ਸੋ ਰਿਪੁ ਸਾਧੋ ॥
jaeh bibheechhan raaj deeyo jin hoon bar raavan so rip saadho |
ਖੇਲਤ ਹੈ ਸੋਊ ਭੂਮਿ ਬਿਖੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਲਾਜ ਜਹਾਜਨ ਕੋ ਤਜਿ ਬਾਧੋ ॥
khelat hai soaoo bhoom bikhai brij laaj jahaajan ko taj baadho |
He, who gave kingdom toe Vibhishana and destroyed the enemy like Ravana, the same is playing in the country of Braja, forsaking all kinds of shyness
ਜਾਹਿ ਨਿਕਾਸ ਲਯੋ ਮੁਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਸੁ ਮਾਪ ਲੀਯੋ ਬਲਿ ਕੋ ਤਨ ਆਧੋ ॥
jaeh nikaas layo mur praan su maap leeyo bal ko tan aadho |
He, who had killed the demon named Mur and had measueed half the body of Bali
ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਸੰਗ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਕੇ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਰਸਿ ਕੈ ਸੋਊ ਖੇਲਤ ਮਾਧੋ ॥੬੧੩॥
sayaam kahai sang gvaarin ke at hee ras kai soaoo khelat maadho |613|
The poet Shyam says that the same Madhave is absorbed in amorous and passionate play with the gopis.613.
ਜੋ ਮੁਰ ਨਾਮ ਮਹਾ ਰਿਪੁ ਪੈ ਕੁਪ ਕੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਡਰਈਯਾ ਫੁਨਿ ਭੀਰਨਿ ॥
jo mur naam mahaa rip pai kup kai at hee ddareeyaa fun bheeran |
He, who had frightened the great demon and enemy named Mur
ਜੋ ਗਜ ਸੰਕਟ ਕੋ ਕਟੀਯਾ ਹਰਤਾ ਜੋਊ ਸਾਧਨ ਕੇ ਦੁਖ ਪੀਰਨਿ ॥
jo gaj sankatt ko katteeyaa harataa joaoo saadhan ke dukh peeran |
He who removed the sufferings of the elephant and who is the destroyer of the sufferings of the saints
ਸੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਮੈ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਤਟ ਪੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਹਰੈਯਾ ਤ੍ਰੀਯ ਚੀਰਨਿ ॥
so brij mai jamunaa tatt pai kab sayaam kahai haraiyaa treey cheeran |
ਤਾ ਕਰ ਕੈ ਰਸ ਕੋ ਚਸਕੋ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਗਨ ਬੀਚ ਅਹੀਰਨਿ ॥੬੧੪॥
taa kar kai ras ko chasako ih bhaat kahiyo gan beech aheeran |614|
The same has stolen the clothes of gopis on the bank of Yamuna and is roaming amongst Ahir girls entrapped in the relish of passion and pleasure.614.
