ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ik oankaar satigur prasaad |

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਹਾਂ ਹਾਂ ਲਪਟਿਓ ਰੇ ਮੂੜੑੇ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਥੋਰੀ ॥

haan haan lapattio re moorrae kachhoo na thoree |

Oh! Oh! You cling to Maya, you fool; this is not a trivial matter.

ਤੇਰੋ ਨਹੀ ਸੁ ਜਾਨੀ ਮੋਰੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

tero nahee su jaanee moree | rahaau |

That which you consider to be yours, is not yours. ||Pause||

ਆਪਨ ਰਾਮੁ ਨ ਚੀਨੋ ਖਿਨੂਆ ॥

aapan raam na cheeno khinooaa |

You do not remember your Lord, even for an instant.

ਜੋ ਪਰਾਈ ਸੁ ਅਪਨੀ ਮਨੂਆ ॥੧॥

jo paraaee su apanee manooaa |1|

That which belongs to others, you believe to be your own. ||1||

ਨਾਮੁ ਸੰਗੀ ਸੋ ਮਨਿ ਨ ਬਸਾਇਓ ॥

naam sangee so man na basaaeo |

The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is always with you, but you do not enshrine it within your mind.

ਛੋਡਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਵਾਹੂ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਓ ॥੨॥

chhodd jaeh vaahoo chit laaeo |2|

You have attached your consciousness to that which you must eventually abandon. ||2||

ਸੋ ਸੰਚਿਓ ਜਿਤੁ ਭੂਖ ਤਿਸਾਇਓ ॥

so sanchio jit bhookh tisaaeo |

You collect that which will bring you only hunger and thirst.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੋਸਾ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਇਓ ॥੩॥

amrit naam tosaa nahee paaeo |3|

You have not obtained the supplies of the Ambrosial Naam. ||3||

ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿ ਮੋਹ ਕੂਪਿ ਪਰਿਆ ॥

kaam krodh moh koop pariaa |

You have fallen into the pit of sexual desire, anger and emotional attachment.

ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੋ ਤਰਿਆ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੬॥

gur prasaad naanak ko tariaa |4|1|16|

By Guru's Grace, O Nanak, a rare few are saved. ||4||1||16||
