Saarang, Fifth Mehl:

ਕਰਤ ਕੇਲ ਬਿਖੈ ਮੇਲ ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਸੂਰ ਮੋਹੇ ॥

karat kel bikhai mel chandr soor mohe |

Acting and play-acting, the mortal sinks into corruption. Even the moon and the sun are enticed and bewitched.

ਉਪਜਤਾ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਦੁੰਦਰ ਨਉਪਰੀ ਝੁਨੰਤਕਾਰ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਅਨਿਗ ਭਾਉ ਕਰਤ ਫਿਰਤ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਧੋਹੇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

aupajataa bikaar dundar nauparee jhunantakaar sundar anig bhaau karat firat bin gopaal dhohe | rahaau |

The disturbing noise of corruption wells up, in the tinkling ankle bells of Maya the beautiful. With her beguiling gestures of love, she seduces everyone except the Lord. ||Pause||

ਤੀਨਿ ਭਉਨੇ ਲਪਟਾਇ ਰਹੀ ਕਾਚ ਕਰਮਿ ਨ ਜਾਤ ਸਹੀ ਉਨਮਤ ਅੰਧ ਧੰਧ ਰਚਿਤ ਜੈਸੇ ਮਹਾ ਸਾਗਰ ਹੋਹੇ ॥੧॥

teen bhaune lapattaae rahee kaach karam na jaat sahee unamat andh dhandh rachit jaise mahaa saagar hohe |1|

Maya clings to the three worlds; those who are stuck in wrong actions cannot escape her. Drunk and engrossed in blind worldly affairs, they are tossed about on the mighty ocean. ||1||

ਉਧਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤ ਦਾਸ ਕਾਟਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸ ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਓਹੇ ॥੨॥੧੦॥੧੩੯॥੩॥੧੩॥੧੫੫॥
