ਆਵਤ ਹੀ ਦੁਹ ਕੋ ਲਖਿ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਜੀ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਅਤਿ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਬਢਾਇਓ ॥
aavat hee duh ko lakh bhoopat jee apune at krodh badtaaeo |
ਪਉਰਖ ਕੈ ਭੁਜਦੰਡਨ ਕੋ ਸਿਖਿ ਬਾਹਨ ਕੋ ਇਕੁ ਬਾਨ ਲਗਾਇਓ ॥
paurakh kai bhujadanddan ko sikh baahan ko ik baan lagaaeo |
Seeing both of them coming, the king was extremely enraged in his mind and with the strength of his arms, he struck an arrow on their vehicle
ਅਉਰ ਜਿਤੋ ਗਨ ਕੋ ਦਲੁ ਆਵਤ ਸੋ ਛਿਨ ਮੈ ਜਮ ਧਾਮਿ ਪਠਾਇਓ ॥
aaur jito gan ko dal aavat so chhin mai jam dhaam patthaaeo |
He despatched in an instant the army of ganas to the abode of Yama
ਆਇ ਖੜਾਨਨ ਕੋ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਗਜ ਆਨਨ ਛਾਡਿ ਕੈ ਖੇਤ ਪਰਾਇਓ ॥੧੫੧੬॥
aae kharraanan ko jab hee gaj aanan chhaadd kai khet paraaeo |1516|
Seeing the king advancing towards Kartikeya, Ganesha also abandoned the battlefield and fled away.1516.
ਮੋਦ ਭਯੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਸਿਵ ਕੋ ਦਲੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਭਜਾਯੋ ॥
mod bhayo nrip ke man mai jab hee siv ko dal maar bhajaayo |
ਕਾਹੇ ਕਉ ਭਾਜਤ ਰੇ ਡਰ ਕੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਭਾਜਹੁ ਇਉ ਤਿਹ ਟੇਰਿ ਸੁਨਾਯੋ ॥
kaahe kau bhaajat re ddar kai jin bhaajahu iau tih tter sunaayo |
Destroying and forcing the army of Shiva to run away, the king was pleased in his mind and said loudly, “Why all of you are running away in fear?”
ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਨੇ ਖੜਗੇਸ ਤਬੈ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਰਿ ਲੈ ਬਰ ਸੰਖ ਬਜਾਯੋ ॥
sayaam bhane kharrages tabai apune kar lai bar sankh bajaayo |
ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਸੰਭਾਰਿ ਸਬੈ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਮਨੋ ਅੰਤਕ ਰੂਪ ਕੀਏ ਰਨਿ ਆਯੋ ॥੧੫੧੭॥
sasatr sanbhaar sabai tab hee mano antak roop kee ran aayo |1517|
Kharag Singh then took his conch in his hand and blew it and he appeared as Yama, carrying his weapons in the battlefied.1517.
ਟੇਰ ਸੁਨੇ ਸਬ ਫੇਰਿ ਫਿਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਲੈ ਕਰਵਾਰਨ ਕੋਪ ਹੁਇ ਧਾਏ ॥
tter sune sab fer fire kar lai karavaaran kop hue dhaae |
When his challenge was heard, then carrying their swords in their hands, the warriors came back to fight
ਲਾਜ ਭਰੇ ਸੁ ਟਰੇ ਨ ਡਰੇ ਤਿਨ ਹੂੰ ਮਿਲਿ ਕੈ ਸਬ ਸੰਖ ਬਜਾਏ ॥
laaj bhare su ttare na ddare tin hoon mil kai sab sankh bajaae |
Though they were definitely feeling ashamed, but now they stood firmly and fearlessly and they all blew their conches together
ਮਾਰ ਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਪੁਕਾਰਿ ਪਰੇ ਲਲਕਾਰਿ ਕਹੈ ਅਰੇ ਤੈ ਬਹੁ ਘਾਏ ॥
maar hee maar pukaar pare lalakaar kahai are tai bahu ghaae |
With the shouts of “kill, kill” they challenged and said, “O king! you have killed many people
ਮਾਰਤ ਹੈ ਅਬ ਤੋਹਿ ਨ ਛਾਡ ਯੌ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਸਰ ਓਘ ਚਲਾਏ ॥੧੫੧੮॥
maarat hai ab tohi na chhaadd yau keh kai sar ogh chalaae |1518|
Now we shall not leave you, we shall kill you,” saying this, they discharged volleys of arrows.1518.
ਜਬ ਆਨਿ ਨਿਦਾਨ ਕੀ ਮਾਰੁ ਮਚੀ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਆਪਨੇ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਸੰਭਾਰੇ ॥
jab aan nidaan kee maar machee tab hee nrip aapane sasatr sanbhaare |
ਖਗ ਗਦਾ ਬਰਛੀ ਜਮਧਾਰ ਸੁ ਲੈ ਕਰਵਾਰ ਹੀ ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਪਚਾਰੇ ॥
khag gadaa barachhee jamadhaar su lai karavaar hee satru pachaare |
When there was dreadful destruction, the king held up his weapons and carrying the dagger, mace, lance, axe and sword in his hands, he challenged the enemy
ਪਾਨਿ ਲੀਓ ਧਨੁ ਬਾਨ ਸੰਭਾਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਰਿ ਕਈ ਅਰਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ॥
paan leeo dhan baan sanbhaar nihaar kee ar kott sanghaare |
Taking his bow and arrows in his hands and looking here and there, he killed many enemies
ਭੂਪ ਨ ਮੋਰਤਿ ਸੰਘਰ ਤੇ ਮੁਖ ਅੰਤ ਕੋ ਅੰਤਕ ਸੇ ਭਟ ਹਾਰੇ ॥੧੫੧੯॥
bhoop na morat sanghar te mukh ant ko antak se bhatt haare |1519|
The faces of the warriors fighting with the king became red and ultimately they were all defeated.1519.
ਲੈ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਿਵ ਪਾਨਿ ਸਰਾਸਨ ਜੀ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਅਤਿ ਕੋਪ ਬਢਾਯੋ ॥
lai apune siv paan saraasan jee apune at kop badtaayo |
Taking his bow and arrows in his hands, Shiva was extremely enraged
ਭੂਪਤਿ ਕੋ ਚਿਤਿਯੋ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਬਧ ਬਾਹਨ ਆਪੁਨ ਕੋ ਸੁ ਧਵਾਯੋ ॥
bhoopat ko chitiyo chit mai badh baahan aapun ko su dhavaayo |
He got his vehicle driven towards the king with the motive of killing him, he shouted loudly to the king
ਮਾਰਤ ਹੋ ਅਬ ਯਾ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕਉ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਸੁਨਾਯੋ ॥
maarat ho ab yaa ran mai keh kai nrip kau ih bhaat sunaayo |
“I am just now going to kill you” and saying thus, he raised the dreadful sound of his conch
ਯੌ ਕਹਿ ਨਾਦ ਬਜਾਵਤ ਭਯੋ ਮਨੋ ਅੰਤ ਭਯੋ ਪਰਲੈ ਘਨ ਆਯੋ ॥੧੫੨੦॥
yau keh naad bajaavat bhayo mano ant bhayo paralai ghan aayo |1520|
It appeared that the clouds were thundering on the doomsday.1520.
ਨਾਦ ਸੁ ਨਾਦ ਰਹਿਓ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਸੁਨਿਯੋ ਪੁਰਹੂਤ ਮਹਾ ਬਿਸਮਾਯੋ ॥
naad su naad rahio bharapoor suniyo purahoot mahaa bisamaayo |
That terrible sound pervaded the whole universe and even Indra was wonder-struck on listening to it
ਸਾਤ ਸਮੁਦ੍ਰ ਨਦੀ ਨਦ ਅਉ ਸਰ ਬਿੰਧ ਸੁਮੇਰ ਮਹਾ ਗਰਜਾਯੋ ॥
saat samudr nadee nad aau sar bindh sumer mahaa garajaayo |
The echo of this sound thundered in the seven oceans, streams, tanks and Sumeru mountain etc.
ਕਾਪ ਉਠਿਓ ਸੁਨਿ ਯੌ ਸਹਸਾਨਨ ਚਉਦਹ ਲੋਕਨ ਚਾਲ ਜਨਾਯੋ ॥
kaap utthio sun yau sahasaanan chaudah lokan chaal janaayo |
Sheshnaga listening to this sound also trembled, he thought that all the fourteen worlds had trembled, the beings of all the worlds,
ਸੰਕਤ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਸੁਨ ਕੈ ਜਗ ਕੇ ਜਨ ਭੂਪ ਨਹੀ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਡਰ ਪਾਯੋ ॥੧੫੨੧॥
sankat hvai sun kai jag ke jan bhoop nahee man mai ddar paayo |1521|
Listening to this sound, were bewildered, but the king Kharag Singh was not frightened.1521.
