ਗਰੜਧ੍ਵਜ ਦੇਖਿ ਤਿਨੈ ਛੁਧਵਾਨ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਮਿਲਿ ਕੈ ਇਹ ਕਾਮ ਕਰਿਉ ਰੇ ॥
gararradhvaj dekh tinai chhudhavaan kahiyo mil kai ih kaam kariau re |
ਜਾਹੁ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਉਨ ਕੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਪਹਿ ਬਿਪ ਬਡੇ ਮਤਿ ਕੇ ਅਤਿ ਬਉਰੇ ॥
jaahu kahiyo un kee patanee peh bip badde mat ke at baure |
Seeing them very hungry, Krishna said, “You may do this: go to the wives of Brahmins, these Brahmins have low intellect
ਜਗਿ ਕਰੈ ਜਿਹ ਕਾਰਨ ਕੋ ਅਰੁ ਹੋਮ ਕਰੈ ਜਪੁ ਅਉ ਸਤੁ ਸਉ ਰੇ ॥
jag karai jih kaaran ko ar hom karai jap aau sat sau re |
ਤਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਭੇਦੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਤ ਮੂੜ ਕਹੈ ਮਿਸਟਾਨ ਕੈ ਖਾਨ ਕੋ ਕਉਰੇ ॥੩੧੨॥
taahee ko bhed na jaanat moorr kahai misattaan kai khaan ko kaure |312|
“The reason for which they perform Yajnas and havans, these fools do not know its significance and are turning the sweet into bitter one.”312.
ਸਭ ਗੋਪ ਨਿਵਾਇ ਕੈ ਸੀਸ ਚਲੇ ਚਲ ਕੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਬਿਪਨ ਕੇ ਘਰਿ ਆਏ ॥
sabh gop nivaae kai sees chale chal ke fir bipan ke ghar aae |
Gopas bowing their heads went again and reached the homes of Brahmins
ਜਾਏ ਤਬੈ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਪਹਿ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਤਬੈ ਛੁਧਵਾਨ ਜਤਾਏ ॥
jaae tabai tin kee patanee peh kaanrah tabai chhudhavaan jataae |
They said to the Brahmins’ wives: “Krishna is very hungry.”
ਤਉ ਸੁਨਿ ਬਾਤ ਸਭੈ ਪਤਨੀ ਦਿਜ ਠਾਢਿ ਭਈ ਉਠਿ ਆਨੰਦ ਪਾਏ ॥
tau sun baat sabhai patanee dij tthaadt bhee utth aanand paae |
ਧਾਇ ਚਲੀ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਮਿਲਬੇ ਕਹੁ ਆਨੰਦ ਕੈ ਦੁਖ ਦੂਰਿ ਨਸਾਏ ॥੩੧੩॥
dhaae chalee har ke milabe kahu aanand kai dukh door nasaae |313|
The wives were pleased to listen about Krishna and getting up, ran to meet him in order to remove their sufferings.313.
ਬਿਪਨ ਕੀ ਬਰਜੀ ਨ ਰਹੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹਰ ਕੇ ਮਿਲਬੇ ਕਹੁ ਧਾਈ ॥
bipan kee barajee na rahee triy kaanrahar ke milabe kahu dhaaee |
The wives did not stop, though they were forbidden by the Brahmins and ran to meet Krishna
ਏਕ ਪਰੀ ਉਠਿ ਮਾਰਗ ਮੈ ਇਕ ਦੇਹ ਰਹੀ ਜੀਅ ਦੇਹ ਪੁਜਾਈ ॥
ek paree utth maarag mai ik deh rahee jeea deh pujaaee |
Someone fell in the way and someone, on getting up, ran again and saving her life came to Krishna
ਤਾ ਛਬਿ ਕੀ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਕਬਿ ਨੈ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਇਮ ਭਾਖ ਸੁਨਾਈ ॥
taa chhab kee at hee upamaa kab nai mukh te im bhaakh sunaaee |
ਜੋਰ ਸਿਉ ਜ︀ਯੋ ਬਹਤੀ ਸਰਤਾ ਨ ਰਹੈ ਹਟਕੀ ਭੁਸ ਭੀਤ ਬਨਾਈ ॥੩੧੪॥
jor siau jayo bahatee sarataa na rahai hattakee bhus bheet banaaee |314|
This spectacle has been described by the poet thus: that the women moved with great speed like the stream breaking through the closure of straw.314.
ਧਾਇ ਸਭੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਮਿਲਬੇ ਕਹੁ ਬਿਪਨ ਕੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਬਡਭਾਗਨ ॥
dhaae sabhai har ke milabe kahu bipan kee patanee baddabhaagan |
Very fortunate wives of Brahmins went to meet Krishna
ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮੁਖੀ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਸੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਗਨੀ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਚਲੀ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਪਗ ਲਾਗਨ ॥
chandramukhee mrig se driganee kab sayaam chalee har ke pag laagan |
They advanced to touch the feet of Krishna, they are moon-faced and doe-eyed
ਹੈ ਸੁਭ ਅੰਗ ਸਭੇ ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਜਿਨ ਕੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਗਨਤਾ ਗਨ ॥
hai subh ang sabhe jin ke na sakai jin kee brahamaa ganataa gan |
Their limbs are beautiful and they are so many in numbers that even Brahma cannot count them
ਭਉਨਨ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਇਉ ਨਿਕਰੀ ਜਿਮੁ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਪੜ੍ਰਹੇ ਨਿਕਰੈ ਬਹੁ ਨਾਗਨ ॥੩੧੫॥
bhaunan te sabh iau nikaree jim mantr parrrahe nikarai bahu naagan |315|
They have come out of their houses like the female serpents under the control of mantras.315.
