ਸਾਲ ਬਿਤੀਤ ਭਯੋ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਤਬ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਭਯੋ ਬਲ ਕੈ ਪਗ ਮੈ ॥
saal biteet bhayo jab hee tab kaanrah bhayo bal kai pag mai |
ਜਸੁ ਮਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ︀ਯ ਭਈ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਪਿਖਿ ਧਾਵਤ ਪੁਤ੍ਰਹਿ ਕੋ ਮਗ ਮੈ ॥
jas maat prasanay bhee man mai pikh dhaavat putreh ko mag mai |
After one year, Krishna began to walk on his strengthened feet, Yashoda was greatly pleased and in order to keep her son before her eyes, she walked behind him
ਬਾਤ ਕਰੀ ਇਹ ਗੋਪਿਨ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਫੈਲ ਰਹੀ ਸੁ ਸਭੈ ਜਗ ਮੈ ॥
baat karee ih gopin so prabhaa fail rahee su sabhai jag mai |
ਜਨੁ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਅਤਿ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਕੋ ਸਬ ਧਾਇ ਧਸੀ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਗ ਮੈ ॥੧੧੮॥
jan sundarataa at maanukh ko sab dhaae dhasee har kai nag mai |118|
She told about Krishna’s walking to all the gopis and the fame of Krishna spread throughout the world. The beautiful ladies also came to see Krishna bringing with them butter etc.118.
ਗੋਪਿਨ ਸੋ ਮਿਲ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਤਟਿ ਖੇਲ ਮਚਾਵਤ ਹੈ ॥
gopin so mil kai har jee jamunaa tatt khel machaavat hai |
ਜਿਮ ਬੋਲਤ ਹੈ ਖਗ ਬੋਲਤ ਹੈ ਜਿਮ ਧਾਵਤ ਹੈ ਤਿਮ ਧਾਵਤ ਹੈ ॥
jim bolat hai khag bolat hai jim dhaavat hai tim dhaavat hai |
Krishna plays with children of gopas on the banks of Yamuna and imitates the voices of birds he imitates their gait also
ਫਿਰਿ ਬੈਠਿ ਬਰੇਤਨ ਮਧ ਮਨੋ ਹਰਿ ਸੋ ਵਹ ਤਾਲ ਬਜਾਵਤ ਹੈ ॥
fir baitth baretan madh mano har so veh taal bajaavat hai |
ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਸੁਭ ਗੀਤ ਭਲੇ ਮੁਖ ਗਾਵਤ ਹੈ ॥੧੧੯॥
kab sayaam kahai tin kee upamaa subh geet bhale mukh gaavat hai |119|
Then sitting on the sand, all the children clap their hands and the poet Shyam says that all of them sing songs from their beautiful mouths.119.
ਕੁੰਜਨ ਮੈ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਤਟਿ ਪੈ ਮਿਲਿ ਗੋਪਿਨ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਖੇਲਤ ਹੈ ॥
kunjan mai jamunaa tatt pai mil gopin so har khelat hai |
Krishna plays in the company of gopa children in the alleys on the banks of Yamuna and
ਤਰਿ ਕੈ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਸਿਗਰੀ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਹਟਿ ਮਧਿ ਬਰੇਤਨ ਪੇਲਤ ਹੈ ॥
tar kai tab hee sigaree jamunaa hatt madh baretan pelat hai |
Swimming the whole of the river, he lies down on the sand on the other side
ਫਿਰਿ ਕੂਦਤ ਹੈ ਜੁ ਮਨੋ ਨਟ ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਕੋ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਰੇਲਤ ਹੈ ॥
fir koodat hai ju mano natt jiau jal ko hirade sang relat hai |
Then he jumps like a juggler with all the children he rips the waters with his breast
ਫਿਰਿ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਹੁਡੂਆ ਲਰਕੇ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਤੇ ਆਪਸਿ ਮੈ ਸਿਰ ਮੇਲਤ ਹੈ ॥੧੨੦॥
fir hvai huddooaa larake duhoon or te aapas mai sir melat hai |120|
Then fighting like sheep among themselves and smite their head against the head of another one.120.
ਆਇ ਜਬੈ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਆਪਨੇ ਖਾਇ ਕੈ ਭੋਜਨ ਖੇਲਨ ਲਾਗੇ ॥
aae jabai har jee grihi aapane khaae kai bhojan khelan laage |
When Krishna comes to his home, then after taking food, he goes to play again
ਮਾਤ ਕਹੈ ਨ ਰਹੈ ਘਰਿ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਉਠਿ ਭਾਗੇ ॥
maat kahai na rahai ghar bheetar baahar ko tab hee utth bhaage |
The mother asks him to stay at home, but inspite of saying, he does not stay within his home and gets up and runs outside
ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਕੇ ਪਤਿ ਬੀਥਿਨ ਮੈ ਅਨੁਰਾਗੇ ॥
sayaam kahai tin kee upamaa brij ke pat beethin mai anuraage |
The poet Shyam says that Krishna, the Lord of Braja, loves the streets of Braja and
ਖੇਲ ਮਚਾਇ ਦਯੋ ਲੁਕ ਮੀਚਨ ਗੋਪ ਸਭੈ ਤਿਹ ਕੇ ਰਸਿ ਪਾਗੇ ॥੧੨੧॥
khel machaae dayo luk meechan gop sabhai tih ke ras paage |121|
He is fully absorbed in the game of hide and seek with other gopa children.121.
ਖੇਲਤ ਹੈ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਤਟ ਪੈ ਮਨ ਆਨੰਦ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਬਾਰਨ ਸੋ ॥
khelat hai jamunaa tatt pai man aanand kai har baaran so |
Playing on the banks of Yamuna, Krishna enjoys with other gopa children
ਚੜਿ ਰੂਖ ਚਲਾਵਤ ਸੋਟ ਕਿਧੋ ਸੋਊ ਧਾਇ ਕੈ ਲਿਆਵੈ ਗੁਆਰਨ ਕੋ ॥
charr rookh chalaavat sott kidho soaoo dhaae kai liaavai guaaran ko |
Climbing on the tree, he throws his club and then seeks it and brings it from amongst the milkmaids
ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਲਖੀ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਮਨੋ ਮਧਿ ਅਨੰਤ ਅਪਾਰਨ ਸੋ ॥
kab sayaam lakhee tin kee upamaa mano madh anant apaaran so |
The poet Shyam says while mentioning this simile that in order to see this splendour,
ਬਲ ਜਾਤ ਸਬੈ ਮੁਨਿ ਦੇਖਨ ਕੌ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਗ ਹਜਾਰਨ ਸੋ ॥੧੨੨॥
bal jaat sabai mun dekhan kau kar kai bahu jog hajaaran so |122|
The sages engaged in various disciplines of yoga are also getting sacrificed.122.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਟਕ ਗ੍ਰੰਥੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਾਵਤਾਰੇ ਗੋਪਿਨ ਸੋ ਖੇਲਬੋ ਬਰਨਨੰ ॥
