ਜਿਨਿ ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਉਪਦੇਸਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਸਦਾ ਘੁਮਾਇਆ ॥

jin jagajeevan upadesiaa tis gur kau hau sadaa ghumaaeaa |

I am forever a sacrifice to the Guru, who has taught me about the Lord, the Life of the World.

ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਖੰਨੀਐ ਜਿਨਿ ਮਧੁਸੂਦਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ ॥

tis gur kau hau khaneeai jin madhusoodan har naam sunaaeaa |

I am every bit a sacrifice to the Guru, the Lover of Nectar, who has revealed the Name of the Lord.

ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਵਾਰਣੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਸਭੁ ਰੋਗੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥

tis gur kau hau vaaranai jin haumai bikh sabh rog gavaaeaa |

I am a sacrifice to the Guru, who has totally cured me of the fatal disease of egotism.

ਤਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਵਡ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਅਵਗਣ ਕਟਿ ਗੁਣੀ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ ॥

tis satigur kau vadd pun hai jin avagan katt gunee samajhaaeaa |

Glorious and great are the virtues of the Guru, who has eradicated evil, and instructed me in virtue.

ਸੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਜਿਨ ਕੈ ਮੁਖਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗੁ ਲਿਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੭॥

so satigur tin kau bhettiaa jin kai mukh masatak bhaag likh paaeaa |7|

The True Guru meets with those upon whose foreheads such blessed destiny is recorded. ||7||
