ਯੌ ਰਾਜਾ ਰਾਨੀ ਬਰਮਾਯੋ ॥

yau raajaa raanee baramaayo |

ਘਰੀਕ ਬਾਤਨ ਸੋ ਉਰਝਾਯੋ ॥

ghareek baatan so urajhaayo |

Thus Rani cajoled Raja with domestic sweet-talk,

ਪੁਨਿ ਤਾ ਸੌ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਉਚਾਰੋ ॥

pun taa sau ih bhaat uchaaro |

ਸੁਨੋ ਰਾਵ ਜੂ ਬਚਨ ਹਮਾਰੋ ॥੫੮॥

suno raav joo bachan hamaaro |58|

And then said, ‘Listen to me my Raja,(58)

ਹਮ ਤੁਮ ਕਰ ਮੇਵਾ ਦੋਊ ਲੇਹੀ ॥

ham tum kar mevaa doaoo lehee |

ਡਾਰਿ ਡਾਰਿ ਯਾ ਸਫ ਮੈ ਦੇਹੀ ॥

ddaar ddaar yaa saf mai dehee |

‘We both will eat the sultanas and then throw them towards the mat.

ਹਮ ਦੋਊ ਦਾਵ ਇਹੈ ਬਦ ਡਾਰੈ ॥

ham doaoo daav ihai bad ddaarai |

ਸੋ ਹਾਰੈ ਜਿਹ ਪਰੈ ਕਿਨਾਰੈ ॥੫੯॥

so haarai jih parai kinaarai |59|

‘We both will aim at the centre and one who hits the edge will lose.’(59)
