ਸਿਰ ਉਚਾ ਨੀਵੇਂ ਚਰਣ ਸਿਰਿ ਪੈਰੀ ਪਾਂਦੇ ।

sir uchaa neeven charan sir pairee paande |

The head is high and the feet are at a low level but still the head bows upon the feet.

ਮੁਹੁ ਅਖੀ ਨਕੁ ਕੰਨ ਹਥ ਦੇਹ ਭਾਰ ਉਚਾਂਦੇ ।

muhu akhee nak kan hath deh bhaar uchaande |

The feet carry the burden of mouth, eyes, nose, ears, hands and the whole body.

ਸਭ ਚਿਹਨ ਛਡਿ ਪੂਜੀਅਨਿ ਕਉਣੁ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਂਦੇ ।

sabh chihan chhadd poojeean kaun karam kamaande |

Then, leaving aside all the body organs, only they (feet) are worshipped.

ਗੁਰ ਸਰਣੀ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤੀ ਨਿਤ ਚਲਿ ਚਲਿ ਜਾਂਦੇ ।

gur saranee saadhasangatee nit chal chal jaande |

They daily go to the holy congregation in the shelter of the Guru.

ਵਤਨਿ ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰ ਨੋ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਵਸਾਂਦੇ ।

vatan praupakaar no kar paar vasaande |

Then they run for the altruistic works and accomplish the work to the maximum possible.

ਮੇਰੀ ਖਲਹੁ ਮੌਜੜੇ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਹੰਢਾਂਦੇ ।

meree khalahu mauajarre gurasikh handtaande |

Alas! Were it so that shoes made of my skin were used by the Sikhs of the Guru.

ਮਸਤਕ ਲਗੇ ਸਾਧ ਰੇਣੁ ਵਡਭਾਗਿ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ।੧੮।

Whosoever gets the dust of the feet of such people (with above virtues) he is fortunate and a blessed one.
