ਲਾਲਚ ਝੂਠ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਮੋਹ ਬਿਆਪਤ ਮੂੜੇ ਅੰਧ ॥

Greed, falsehood, corruption and emotional attachment entangle the blind and the foolish.

ਲਾਗਿ ਪਰੇ ਦੁਰਗੰਧ ਸਿਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਾਇਆ ਬੰਧ ॥੧॥
