ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ik oankaar satigur prasaad |

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਸਹ ਕੀ ਸਾਰ ਸੁਹਾਗਨਿ ਜਾਨੈ ॥

seh kee saar suhaagan jaanai |

The happy soul-bride knows the worth of her Husband Lord.

ਤਜਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਸੁਖ ਰਲੀਆ ਮਾਨੈ ॥

taj abhimaan sukh raleea maanai |

Renouncing pride, she enjoys peace and pleasure.

ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਦੇਇ ਨ ਅੰਤਰੁ ਰਾਖੈ ॥

tan man dee na antar raakhai |

She surrenders her body and mind to Him, and does not remain separate from Him.

ਅਵਰਾ ਦੇਖਿ ਨ ਸੁਨੈ ਅਭਾਖੈ ॥੧॥

avaraa dekh na sunai abhaakhai |1|

She does not see or hear, or speak to another. ||1||

ਸੋ ਕਤ ਜਾਨੈ ਪੀਰ ਪਰਾਈ ॥

so kat jaanai peer paraaee |

How can anyone know the pain of another,

ਜਾ ਕੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਦਰਦੁ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

jaa kai antar darad na paaee |1| rahaau |

if there is no compassion and sympathy within? ||1||Pause||

ਦੁਖੀ ਦੁਹਾਗਨਿ ਦੁਇ ਪਖ ਹੀਨੀ ॥

dukhee duhaagan due pakh heenee |

The discarded bride is miserable, and loses both worlds;

ਜਿਨਿ ਨਾਹ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਕੀਨੀ ॥

jin naah nirantar bhagat na keenee |

she does not worship her Husband Lord.

ਪੁਰ ਸਲਾਤ ਕਾ ਪੰਥੁ ਦੁਹੇਲਾ ॥

pur salaat kaa panth duhelaa |

The bridge over the fire of hell is difficult and treacherous.

ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਸਾਥੀ ਗਵਨੁ ਇਕੇਲਾ ॥੨॥

sang na saathee gavan ikelaa |2|

No one will accompany you there; you will have to go all alone. ||2||

ਦੁਖੀਆ ਦਰਦਵੰਦੁ ਦਰਿ ਆਇਆ ॥

dukheea daradavand dar aaeaa |

Suffering in pain, I have come to Your Door, O Compassionate Lord.

ਬਹੁਤੁ ਪਿਆਸ ਜਬਾਬੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥

bahut piaas jabaab na paaeaa |

I am so thirsty for You, but You do not answer me.

ਕਹਿ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਸਰਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੀ ॥

keh ravidaas saran prabh teree |

Says Ravi Daas, I seek Your Sanctuary, God;

ਜਿਉ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਤਿਉ ਕਰੁ ਗਤਿ ਮੇਰੀ ॥੩॥੧॥

jiau jaanahu tiau kar gat meree |3|1|

as You know me, so will You save me. ||3||1||
