ਨਿਜੁ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਕਛੁ ਬਾਤ ਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕੋ ਦੀਜਿਯੈ ॥

nij man kee kachh baat na triy ko deejiyai |

Never let a woman know what is in your mind.

ਤਾ ਕੋ ਚਿਤ ਚੁਰਾਇ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਲੀਜਿਯੈ ॥

taa ko chit churaae sadaa hee leejiyai |

Rather learn what are her internal thoughts.

ਨਿਜੁ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਤਾ ਸੋ ਜੋ ਬਾਤ ਸੁਨਾਇਯੈ ॥

nij man kee taa so jo baat sunaaeiyai |

Once she is in the know of the secret, that must become an open

ਹੋ ਬਾਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਤ ਜਾਇ ਆਪੁ ਪਛੁਤਾਇਯੈ ॥੨੦॥

ho baahar pragattat jaae aap pachhutaaeiyai |20|

Secret otherwise you will have to repent thereafter.(20)(l)
