ਭਲਾ ਕਿਯਾ ਤੈ ਰਾਖ︀ਯਾ ਸੁਖਿਤ ਕਿਯਾ ਮੁਰ ਚੀਤਿ ॥

bhalaa kiyaa tai raakhayaa sukhit kiyaa mur cheet |

‘You have acted very wisely and have pleased my heart.’ (he said).

ਸਰਨਾਗਤ ਦੀਜਤ ਨਹੀ ਇਹੈ ਬਡਨ ਕੀ ਰੀਤਿ ॥੧੦॥

saranaagat deejat nahee ihai baddan kee reet |10|

‘Benevolent people never let one succumb, when one has come to seek the protection,’ (she added).(10)

ਸੁਨਤ ਮਨੋਹਰ ਬਾਤ ਜੜ ਰੀਝਿ ਗਯੋ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥

sunat manohar baat jarr reejh gayo man maeh |

Listening to such talk he was very much delighted,

ਅਧਿਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਤਾ ਸੋ ਕਰੀ ਭੇਦ ਪਛਾਨਾ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੧੧॥

adhik preet taa so karee bhed pachhaanaa naeh |11|

And without understanding the realty, love the wife even more.(11)(1)
