Gauree Gwaarayree, Third Mehl:

ਸੋ ਕਿਉ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਜਿਸ ਕੇ ਜੀਅ ਪਰਾਨਾ ॥

so kiau visarai jis ke jeea paraanaa |

Why forget Him, unto whom the soul and the breath of life belong?

ਸੋ ਕਿਉ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਸਭ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਨਾ ॥

so kiau visarai sabh maeh samaanaa |

Why forget Him, who is all-pervading?

ਜਿਤੁ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਤਿ ਪਰਵਾਨਾ ॥੧॥

jit seviai daragah pat paravaanaa |1|

Serving Him, one is honored and accepted in the Court of the Lord. ||1||

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥

har ke naam vittahu bal jaau |

I am a sacrifice to the Name of the Lord.

ਤੂੰ ਵਿਸਰਹਿ ਤਦਿ ਹੀ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

toon visareh tad hee mar jaau |1| rahaau |

If I were to forget You, at that very instant, I would die. ||1||Pause||

ਤਿਨ ਤੂੰ ਵਿਸਰਹਿ ਜਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪਿ ਭੁਲਾਏ ॥

tin toon visareh ji tudh aap bhulaae |

Those whom You Yourself have led astray, forget You.

ਤਿਨ ਤੂੰ ਵਿਸਰਹਿ ਜਿ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਏ ॥

tin toon visareh ji doojai bhaae |

Thse who are in love with duality forget You.

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਜੋਨੀ ਪਾਏ ॥੨॥

manamukh agiaanee jonee paae |2|

The ignorant, self-willed manmukhs are consigned to reincarnation. ||2||

ਜਿਨ ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਤੁਠਾ ਸੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਏ ॥

jin ik man tutthaa se satigur sevaa laae |

Those who are pleasing to the One Lord are assigned

ਜਿਨ ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਤੁਠਾ ਤਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ॥

jin ik man tutthaa tin har man vasaae |

to His service and enshrine Him within their minds.

ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥੩॥

guramatee har naam samaae |3|

Through the Guru's Teachings, they are absorbed in the Lord's Name. ||3||

ਜਿਨਾ ਪੋਤੈ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਸੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥

jinaa potai pun se giaan beechaaree |

Those who have virtue as their treasure, contemplate spiritual wisdom.

ਜਿਨਾ ਪੋਤੈ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਤਿਨ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੀ ॥

jinaa potai pun tin haumai maaree |

Those who have virtue as their treasure, subdue egotism.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੭॥੨੭॥

naanak jo naam rate tin kau balihaaree |4|7|27|

Nanak is a sacrifice to those who are attuned to the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||4||7||27||
