ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੁਖ ਫਲੁ ਸਚੁ ਹੈ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਦੁਖ ਫਲੁ ਕੂੜੁ ਕੂੜਾਵਾ ।

guramukh sukh fal sach hai manamukh dukh fal koorr koorraavaa |

The gurmukh attains the pleasure fruit of truth and the manmukh receives the bitter fruit of falsehood.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਚੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਰੁਖੁ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਪਛਾਵਾ ।

guramukh sach santokh rukh duramat doojaa bhaau pachhaavaa |

Gurmukh is tree of truth and contentment and the wicked person is the unstable shade of duality.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਚੁ ਅਡੋਲੁ ਹੈ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਫੇਰਿ ਫਿਰੰਦੀ ਛਾਵਾਂ ।

Gurmukh is firm like truth and manmukh, the mind oriented is like ever shifting shade.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕੋਇਲ ਅੰਬ ਵਣ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਵਣਿ ਵਣਿ ਹੰਢਨਿ ਕਾਵਾਂ ।

Gurmukh is like nightingale which resides in mango groves but manmukh is like a crow which wanders in forests from place to place.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਚੁ ਬਾਗ ਹੈ ਸਬਦ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਗੁਰ ਮੰਤੁ ਸਚਾਵਾਂ ।

saadhasangat sach baag hai sabad surat gur mant sachaavaan |

The holy congregation is the true garden where gurmantr inspires the consciousness to merge in the Word, the true shade.

ਵਿਹੁ ਵਣੁ ਵਲਿ ਅਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਨਿਗੋਸਾਵਾਂ ।
