The King Jag: TOMAR STANZA BY THY GRACE

ਬਿਆਸੀ ਬਰਖ ਪਰਮਾਨ ॥

biaasee barakh paramaan |

ਦਿਨ ਦੋਇ ਮਾਸ ਅਸਟਾਨ ॥

din doe maas asattaan |

For eighty-two years, eight months and two days,

ਬਹੁ ਰਾਜੁ ਭਾਗ ਕਮਾਇ ॥

bahu raaj bhaag kamaae |

ਪੁਨਿ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਰਾਇ ॥੧॥੩੧੨॥

pun nrip ko nriparaae |1|312|

Ruled very prosperously the king of kings (Ajai Singh).1.312.

ਸੁਨ ਰਾਜ ਰਾਜ ਮਹਾਨ ॥

sun raaj raaj mahaan |

ਦਸ ਚਾਰਿ ਚਾਰਿ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥

das chaar chaar nidhaan |

Listen, the king of great kingdom, who was treasure of fourteen learnings

ਦਸ ਦੋਇ ਦੁਆਦਸ ਮੰਤ ॥

das doe duaadas mant |

ਧਰਨੀ ਧਰਾਨ ਮਹੰਤਿ ॥੨॥੩੧੩॥

dharanee dharaan mahant |2|313|

Who recited the mantra of twelve letters and was the Supreme Sovereign on the earth.2.313.

ਪੁਨਿ ਭਯੋ ਉਦੋਤ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ॥

pun bhayo udot nripaal |

ਰਸ ਰਤਿ ਰੂਪ ਰਸਾਲ ॥

ras rat roop rasaal |

Then the great king Jag took birth, who was very beautiful and affectionate

ਅਤਿ ਭਾਨ ਤੇਜ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ॥

at bhaan tej prachandd |

ਅਨਖੰਡ ਤੇਜ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ॥੩॥੩੧੪॥

anakhandd tej prachandd |3|314|

Who was highly lustrous than the sun, His great effulgence was indestructible.3.314.

ਤਿਨਿ ਬੋਲਿ ਬਿਪ੍ਰ ਮਹਾਨ ॥

tin bol bipr mahaan |

ਪਸੁ ਮੇਧ ਜਗ ਰਚਾਨ ॥

pas medh jag rachaan |

He called all the great Brahmins. In order to perform the animal sacrifice,

ਦਿਜ ਪ੍ਰਾਗ ਜੋਤ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥

dij praag jot bulaae |

ਅਪਿ ਕਾਮਰੂਪ ਕਹਾਇ ॥੪॥੩੧੫॥

ap kaamaroop kahaae |4|315|

He called very leaned Brahmins, who called themselves very beautiful like Cupid.4.315.

ਦਿਜ ਕਾਮਰੂਪ ਅਨੇਕ ॥

dij kaamaroop anek |

ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਬੋਲਿ ਲੀਨ ਬਿਸੇਖ ॥

nrip bol leen bisekh |

Many Brahmin beautiful like Cuaid were especially invited by the king.

ਸਭ ਜੀਅ ਜਗ ਅਪਾਰ ॥

sabh jeea jag apaar |

ਮਖ ਹੋਮ ਕੀਨ ਅਬਿਚਾਰ ॥੫॥੩੧੬॥

makh hom keen abichaar |5|316|

Innumerable animals of the world, were caught and burnt in altar-pit thoughtlessly.5.316.

ਪਸੁ ਏਕ ਪੈ ਦਸ ਬਾਰ ॥

pas ek pai das baar |

ਪੜਿ ਬੇਦ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਅਬਿਚਾਰ ॥

parr bed mantr abichaar |

Ten times on one animal, the Vedic mantra was recited thoughtlessly.

ਅਬਿ ਮਧਿ ਹੋਮ ਕਰਾਇ ॥

ab madh hom karaae |

ਧਨੁ ਭੂਪ ਤੇ ਬਹੁ ਪਾਇ ॥੬॥੩੧੭॥

dhan bhoop te bahu paae |6|317|

The animal was burnt in the altar-pit, for which much wealth was received from the king.6.317.

ਪਸੁ ਮੇਘ ਜਗ ਕਰਾਇ ॥

pas megh jag karaae |

ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤ ਰਾਜੁ ਸੁਹਾਇ ॥

bahu bhaat raaj suhaae |

By performing animal-sacrifice, the kingdom prospered in many ways.

ਬਰਖ ਅਸੀਹ ਅਸਟ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਨ ॥

barakh aseeh asatt pramaan |

ਦੁਇ ਮਾਸ ਰਾਜੁ ਕਮਾਨ ॥੭॥੩੧੮॥

due maas raaj kamaan |7|318|

For eighty-eight years and two months, the monarch ruled the kingdom.7.318.

ਪੁਨ ਕਠਨ ਕਾਲ ਕਰਵਾਲ ॥

pun katthan kaal karavaal |

ਜਗ ਜਾਰੀਆ ਜਿਹ ਜੁਵਾਲ ॥

jag jaareea jih juvaal |

Then the terrible sword of death, whose flame hath burnt the world

ਵਹਿ ਖੰਡੀਆ ਅਨਖੰਡ ॥

veh khanddeea anakhandd |

ਅਨਖੰਡ ਰਾਜ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ॥੮॥੩੧੯॥

anakhandd raaj prachandd |8|319|

Broke the unbreakable king, whose rule was entirely glorious.8.319.

ਇਤਿ ਪੰਚਮੋ ਰਾਜ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥

eit panchamo raaj samaapatam sat subham sat |
