ਕੋਪ ਭਰੇ ਅਰਰਾਇ ਪਰੇ ਨ ਡਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਹਥਿਯਾਰ ਕਰੇ ਹੈ ॥

kop bhare araraae pare na ddare har siau hathiyaar kare hai |

In anger they are crying out and are fighting fearlessly with their weapons

ਘਾਇ ਭਰੇ ਬਹੁ ਸ੍ਰਉਨ ਝਰੇ ਅਸਿ ਪਾਨਿ ਧਰੇ ਬਲ ਕੈ ਜੁ ਅਰੇ ਹੈ ॥

ghaae bhare bahu sraun jhare as paan dhare bal kai ju are hai |

Their bodies are full of wounds and from them the blood is flowing, even then, holding swords in their hands, they are fighting with full strength

ਮੂਸਲ ਲੈ ਬਲਦੇਵ ਤਬੈ ਸਬੈ ਚਾਵਰ ਜਿਉ ਰਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਛਰੇ ਹੈ ॥

ਫੇਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰ ਕੀਯੋ ਹਲ ਸੋ ਮਰਿ ਭੂਮਿ ਗਿਰੇ ਨਹੀ ਸਾਸ ਭਰੇ ਹੈ ॥੧੦੭੯॥

fer prahaar keeyo hal so mar bhoom gire nahee saas bhare hai |1079|

Balram has thrashed them like rice with pestale and again struck them with his plough on account of which they are lying on the ground.1079.

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜਦੁਬੀਰ ਕੇ ਬੀਰ ਜਿਤੇ ਅਸਿ ਹਾਥਨ ਲੈ ਅਰਿ ਊਪਰਿ ਧਾਏ ॥

sree jadubeer ke beer jite as haathan lai ar aoopar dhaae |

All the warriors of Krishna, taking their swords in their hands fell upon the enemies

ਜੁਧ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਕਤਿ ਕੋਪੁ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਦਿਸਿ ਜੰਬੁਕ ਜੋਗਿਨ ਗ੍ਰਿਝ ਅਘਾਏ ॥

judh kariyo kat kop duhoon dis janbuk jogin grijh aghaae |

Getting enraged they fought such a battle that in all the ten directions, the jackals and vultures ate the flesh of the dead to their fill

ਬੀਰ ਗਿਰੇ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਓਰਨ ਕੇ ਗਹਿ ਫੇਟ ਕਟਾਰਿਨ ਸਿਉ ਲਰਿ ਘਾਏ ॥

beer gire duhoon oran ke geh fett kattaarin siau lar ghaae |

On both sides the warriors have fallen down on the earth and are lying down after being wounded by the daggers

ਕਉਤਕ ਦੇਖ ਕੈ ਦੇਵ ਕਹੈ ਧੰਨ ਵੇ ਜਨਨੀ ਜਿਨ ਏ ਸੁਤ ਜਾਏ ॥੧੦੮੦॥

kautak dekh kai dev kahai dhan ve jananee jin e sut jaae |1080|

Seeing this spectacle the gods are also saying that those mothers are blessed, who have given birth to such sons.1080.

ਅਉਰ ਜਿਤੇ ਬਰਬੀਰ ਹੁਤੇ ਅਤਿ ਰੋਸ ਭਰੇ ਰਨ ਭੂਮਹਿ ਆਏ ॥

aaur jite barabeer hute at ros bhare ran bhoomeh aae |

All other warriors who were there, they also came in the battlefield

ਜਾਦਵ ਸੈਨ ਚਲੀ ਇਤ ਤੇ ਤਿਨ ਹੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੈ ਅਤਿ ਜੁਧੁ ਮਚਾਏ ॥

jaadav sain chalee it te tin hoon mil kai at judh machaae |

From this side, the army of the Yadavas marched forward and on the other side those people began a dreadful fight

ਬਾਨ ਕਮਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਗਦਾ ਬਰਛੇ ਬਹੁ ਆਪਸ ਬੀਚ ਚਲਾਏ ॥

baan kamaan kripaan gadaa barachhe bahu aapas beech chalaae |

The bows, arrows, swords, maces, daggers, all these weapons were used

ਭੇਦ ਚਮੂੰ ਜਦੁ ਬੀਰਨ ਕੀ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਜਦੁਰਾਇ ਕੇ ਊਪਰ ਧਾਏ ॥੧੦੮੧॥

bhed chamoon jad beeran kee sabh hee jaduraae ke aoopar dhaae |1081|

After meeting the army of the Yadavas, the enemy’s army fell upon Krishna.1081.

ਚਕ੍ਰ ਤ੍ਰਿਸੂਲ ਗਦਾ ਗਹਿ ਬੀਰ ਕਰੰ ਧਰ ਕੈ ਅਸਿ ਅਉਰ ਕਟਾਰੀ ॥

chakr trisool gadaa geh beer karan dhar kai as aaur kattaaree |

The warriors are holding the discs, tridents, maces, swords and daggers

ਮਾਰ ਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਪੁਕਾਰਿ ਪਰੇ ਲਰੇ ਘਾਇ ਕਰੇ ਨ ਟਰੇ ਬਲ ਭਾਰੀ ॥

maar hee maar pukaar pare lare ghaae kare na ttare bal bhaaree |

Those mighty ones, shouting “kill, kill are not receding from their places

ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਬਿਦਾਰ ਦਈ ਧੁਜਨੀ ਤਿਹ ਕੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਿਚਾਰੀ ॥

sayaam bidaar dee dhujanee tih kee upamaa ih bhaat bichaaree |

ਮਾਨਹੁ ਖੇਤ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਮੈ ਧਸਿ ਕੈ ਗਜਿ ਬਾਰਜ ਬ੍ਰਯੂਹ ਬਿਡਾਰੀ ॥੧੦੮੨॥

maanahu khet sarovar mai dhas kai gaj baaraj brayooh biddaaree |1082|

Krishna has destroyed the enemy’s forces and it seems that on entering a tank some elephant has destroyed the lotus-flowers.1082.

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜਦੁਨਾਥ ਕੇ ਬਾਨਨ ਅਗ੍ਰ ਡਰੈ ਅਰਿ ਇਉ ਕਿਹੂੰ ਧੀਰ ਧਰਿਯੋ ਨਾ ॥

sree jadunaath ke baanan agr ddarai ar iau kihoon dheer dhariyo naa |

The enemy frightened by the arrows of Krishna are losing patience

ਬੀਰ ਸਬੈ ਹਟ ਕੇ ਠਟਕੇ ਭਟਕੇ ਰਨ ਭੀਤਰ ਜੁਧ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਨਾ ॥

beer sabai hatt ke tthattake bhattake ran bheetar judh kariyo naa |

All warriors, getting shamefaced, are going to leave and none of them is desirous of continuing the war

ਮੂਸਲ ਅਉ ਹਲ ਪਾਨਿ ਲਯੋ ਬਲਿ ਪੇਖਿ ਭਜੇ ਦਲ ਕੋਊ ਅਰਿਯੋ ਨਾ ॥

moosal aau hal paan layo bal pekh bhaje dal koaoo ariyo naa |

ਜਿਉ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਕੇ ਗਨ ਛਾਡਿ ਚਲੈ ਬਨ ਡੀਠ ਪਰਿਯੋ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਰਾਜ ਕੋ ਛਉਨਾ ॥੧੦੮੩॥

jiau mrig ke gan chhaadd chalai ban ddeetth pariyo mrigaraaj ko chhaunaa |1083|

Seeing Balram with his mace and plough in his hands, the enemy’s army fled and this spectacle seems like this that seeing a lion, the deer in fear are leaving the forest and running away.1083.

ਭਾਗਿ ਤਬੈ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਰਨ ਤੇ ਗਿਰਤੇ ਪਰਤੇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਤੀਰ ਪੁਕਾਰੇ ॥

bhaag tabai sabh hee ran te girate parate nrip teer pukaare |

ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਤ ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੂ ਸਿਗਰੇ ਰਿਸ ਕੈ ਬਲ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ॥

tere hee jeevat he prabh joo sigare ris kai bal sayaam sanghaare |

All the soldiers staggering in the path reached near jarasandh and shouted loudly, “O Lord! Krishna and Balram have killed all your soldiers in their fury

ਮਾਰੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਨ ਏਕ ਬਚਿਯੋ ਬਹੁ ਬੀਰ ਗਿਰੇ ਰਨ ਭੂਮਿ ਮਝਾਰੇ ॥

maare anek na ek bachiyo bahu beer gire ran bhoom majhaare |

“Not even one soldier has survived

ਤਾ ਤੇ ਸੁਨੋ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਹਮਰੀ ਉਨ ਜੀਤ ਭਈ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਦਲ ਹਾਰੇ ॥੧੦੮੪॥

taa te suno binatee hamaree un jeet bhee tumare dal haare |1084|

All of them have fallen on the earth in the battlefield, therefore we tell you, O King! That they are victorious and your army has been defeated.”1084.

ਕੋਪ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਤਬ ਸੰਧਿ ਜਰਾ ਅਰਿ ਮਾਰਨ ਕਉ ਬਹੁ ਬੀਰ ਬੁਲਾਏ ॥

kop kariyo tab sandh jaraa ar maaran kau bahu beer bulaae |

Then in great rage, the king called the mighty warriors in order to kill the enemies

ਆਇਸ ਪਾਵਤ ਹੀ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੈ ਮਿਲਿ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਬਧਬੇ ਕਹੁ ਧਾਏ ॥

aaeis paavat hee nrip kai mil kai har ke badhabe kahu dhaae |

Receving the orders of the king, they moved forward for killing Krishna

ਬਾਨ ਕਮਾਨ ਗਦਾ ਗਹਿ ਕੈ ਉਮਡੇ ਘਨ ਜਿਉ ਘਨ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਪੈ ਆਏ ॥

baan kamaan gadaa geh kai umadde ghan jiau ghan sayaam pai aae |

Catching hold of the bow, arrows, maces etc., they swelled like clouds and fell upon Krishna

ਆਇ ਪਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਊਪਰ ਸੋ ਮਿਲਿ ਕੈ ਬਗ ਮੇਲਿ ਤੁਰੰਗ ਉਠਾਏ ॥੧੦੮੫॥

aae pare har aoopar so mil kai bag mel turang utthaae |1085|

They attacked Krishna on their galloping horses.1085.

ਰੋਸ ਭਰੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਆਨਿ ਪਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਕਉ ਲਲਕਾਰ ਕੇ ਜੁਧ ਮਚਾਯੋ ॥

ros bhare mil aan pare har kau lalakaar ke judh machaayo |

They began to fight with Krishna, while shouting with great ire

ਬਾਨ ਕਮਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਗਦਾ ਗਹਿ ਯੌ ਤਿਨ ਸਾਰ ਸੋ ਸਾਰ ਬਜਾਯੋ ॥

baan kamaan kripaan gadaa geh yau tin saar so saar bajaayo |

They held their arrows, swords and maces in their hands and struck steel with steel

ਘਾਇਲ ਆਪ ਭਏ ਭਟ ਸੋ ਅਰੁ ਸਸਤ੍ਰਨ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਤਨੁ ਘਾਯੋ ॥

ghaaeil aap bhe bhatt so ar sasatran so har ko tan ghaayo |

They themselves were wounded, but also inflicted wounds on the body of Krishna

ਦਉਰ ਪਰੇ ਹਲ ਮੂਸਲ ਲੈ ਬਲਿ ਬੈਰਨ ਕੋ ਦਲੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਗਿਰਾਯੋ ॥੧੦੮੬॥

daur pare hal moosal lai bal bairan ko dal maar giraayo |1086|

Balram also ran with his plough and mace and he knocked down the army of the enemies.1086.
